Just to give my sliver of experience with my engineering education to confirm what you are saying: There were more hijabi mechanical engineer students in my class than white women. Asian immigrant families push their daughters to be academically excellent as much as their sons. Daughters of Asian immigrants are one of the most educated demographics in America.
How can it not be both? What you are saying about Asian parents is true, but DEI actually harms the children of Asian parents, because they study hard, work hard, and then get deprived of opportunities because they don't have the "right" skin colour? (I understand that that's not what the tweet is saying in the first sentence - I do agree with the last sentence of the tweet, though.)

That thing reminded me an awful lot of the big spoiler models from the 80's .... I wish other makers would go back (even further) to retro styling with curves, fins and chrome ..... Could you imagine a rethinking for a 57 Chevy, 55 Thunderbird, 65 Galaxy 500 convertible or a 61 Continental with suicide doors (the only maker to use them today is Rolls Royce). Everything by the major makers today looks the same .... you have a bland sedan, a bland SUV or a truck with 4 doors. You can't even order a 2 door short cab in any makers mid-sized model, only in a full sized version.
Yes. Auto makers need to look to the past for inspiration. Bringing back some of the older styles would be bad ass. Nostalgia is powerful! Cars these days are sooooooo bland. VERY few cars have style. Rest are boxes on wheels.
