One thing I will agree with many of the critics is that too often attention grabbing stunts done by people for some "woke" cause aren't helpful. In many cases such as the people who glued themselves to the floor of the Target center the cause they are for is lost because of the outrageousness of the stunt they are trying. If anything the stunt has turned more people off towards their cause or made it the target of ridicule.

Yeah but is this stupid **** any different than the idiots who would chain themselves to a tree back in the day? Woke is just the new term to describe people who the right can't stand. Before it was SJW. But in reality wokeness was supposed to be about fighting racism. No one even uses the term correctly anymore.
There are good and decent people who are on the left, maybe I’m wrong but I really believe that … several posters on here are examples like @rocketsjudoka, @Nook , @Xerobull, etc . these peeps don’t come across as extreme, and don’t demand you believe what they do or they cancel you and are actually likeable …I would not hesitate to hang out, catch a sports game or have lunch with them. however there are also people on the left that are wokes. How do you know they are woke?…it’s kinda like dog sh.it, you come close to it and you know what it is. They tend to do stupid **** like the target glue down hustle, say stupid **** like being for open borders when even the Biden administration has distanced from that stance now, it’s just about nonsense
Yes stuff like this has been happening for a long time. I remember there was a big trend of pieing politicians and other media figures. Chaining yourself to a tree that you are trying to save is extreme but at least it's tied directly to the cause you're doing. Gluing yourself to the floor of a basketball arena because one of the team owners has a stake in a chicken plant isn't directly tied to the cause but much more about an attention grabbing "look at me" stunt.
Yeah but even stupid **** like gluing your hand to the floor, like who cares - outside the people who are at the game, why does it make people so upset. All I did was call out people like @ROXRAN for making "wokeness" into this massive danger they say it is, while things like a 10 year old not being able to get an abortion isn't worth their discussion. Now they are all triggered and angry by that lol. All because I asked them why is it that this silliness is more important to them to comment on than 10 year olds getting abortions? And their response was vitriol. Now I'm the wokestar to them. Wokeness to me are just some self-entitled rich liberals trying to assert values they don't understand. They are an annoying and an easy target, but they aren't the downfall of this country they are made out to be. Wokeness to them is anyone who questions them or challenges them.
I always thought woke meant that you didn't realize something was wrong and now that you have better facts you understand why it was wrong..........now it just seems like a term the right uses to put down people on the left, its lost its meaning on me..........I think I am woke to the plight of others who suffer and feel empathy for them, I don't think that's such a bad thing, I am actually proud of it........am I going to glue my hand to the local Starbucks, hell no, but do I see something wrong and try and change it, hell yes I will.

WRONG! I don’t mind anyone that questions or challenges my own politics and there’s certain areas that I’m actually more in line with Democrats such as LGQBT+ rights , Heck I would probably date a postop trans female because some are ultra attractive as a woman if I was single - I believe in individual rights and everyone has a right to be respected no matter if I don’t agree with a certain lifestyle myself. I also believe in universal healthcare because I do feel this encourages the entrepreneurial spirit and working for yourself which is in line with republican values ad a byproduct. Now Questioning and challenging and doing stupid **** and saying stupid **** is two different things altogether- The January 6 rioters - I may have agreed with a lot of things and a lot of the politics but I don’t agree with the stupid **** - This would be an example of reverse Wokeness- Those that say things like I’m for open borders and we should all leave the United States, No I don’t respect these people that say that because it’s stupidity… I can respect Different points of view and we have the entitlement to have that and we should respect that just like I want someone to respect mine (even if they don’t agree with it) ~ But I actually do appreciate people that are different - Where would we be if we were all the same? Thanks for share your views, I appreciate that. But who are these people who are for open borders outside of academics or fringe groups? It's something that gets used as a fear device. But in reality there isn't any Democrat supporting open borders. I questioned you on VS because I felt you were oversimplifying what was going on to make an anti-woke argument. I don't care about VS, they make a second rate product that's being out-competed on digital by cheaper and higher quality products. But I challenge your facts not because I want to defend wokeness, but because I don't think what is being represented is true. The problem with "wokeness" is when it gets weaponized as a means to punish people. Other than that, it's just people acting like self-righteous idiots which I guarantee you kind find across the spectrum. To me, it's far more "woke" to tell a little girl that she has to carry a baby after she was raped because we believe our religious teachings are more important than what happens to you.
