Didn't even have the talent to write this song (he doesn't write his own songs, and he's not credited on this one either), unlike the guy who actually did grow up in a small town and wrote his own songs about it, i.e. Johnny Cougar Mellencamp

it's an interesting comment on the Orwellian nature of our current political moment, that the rather innocuous song, and it's video featuring a pair of duck hunters, has engendered greater political controversy than the events that inspired it.

 

I saw a very funny tweet that I wish I could find again. It said something to the effect of:

Gorsuch in a corporate law case: of course the paper company can sell paper from the mill their child laborers fell into.

Gorsuch in a Native American rights case: I stand in solidarity with those first nations tribes whose ancient claim to this land is unsurpassed.

 

it doesn't even sound clever, much less very funny.

but perhaps the drawing pulled it all together.
