Star Wars. Luke staring out at the twin suns of Tatooine with the John Williams score swelling, and not a hint of CGI.

"The Speech" from Glengarry Glen Ross. Alec Baldwin earns himself a lifetime of cache in just 6 minutes.

The ending of "Shawshank Redemption". Two simple words: "I hope..." Such an impact.

I enthusiastically agree with you as far as speeches go.

But my favorite scene, and I want to sneak in before Deckard does, is the opening scene of BladeRunner. (Youtube won't let me embed the video)

Impossible to say, given the sheer amount of movies I've seen in my life. As far as recent memory goes, basically any scene from Into The Wild would do...but I will go with this one.

The ending scene from There Will Be Blood sticks out in my mine. Theres probably others but I was just thinking about this one the other day. Its so amazing and powerful. Now, out of context, it may seem funny or whatever, but when watching it with the film, holy crap.

Also, for more recent films, the endings to Toy Story 3 and Black Swan stick out in my mind. And the inferno scene in Toy Story 3.

    Ending of Shawshank
    Ending of American Beauty
Pretty much the last 30 minutes of Black Swan (starting with Portman and Kunis coming back to Portman's apartment)
when Alex is in his bedroom, listening to Ludwig Van (that scene is specifically playing Beethoven's 9th but not the final movement, but the 2nd one) in a Clockwork Orange
Pretty much the entire first hour of Full Metal Jacket
When Jimmy Stewart's character kisses Kim Novak's "Madeleine" for the first time in Vertigo
The various interactions that Steve Carell has with Mark Wahlberg in "Date Night"
When Peter (Paul Rudd) calls Sydney (Jason Segal) "Joben" in "I Love You Man"
Too many scenes to list in "Elf"

Also have to go with the Last of The Mohicans ending. Got actions, terrific soundtrack in full swing and full of emotions. Might not be my favorite scene but one of my favorite. Also Contact opening. I also enjoyed the opening sequence from Kung Fu Panda. And last but not least The Matrix opening.

Off the top of my head I'd say either the GoodFellas steady cam shot or the end scene to Love On The Run.

Truffaut has fun end shots in his movies.

The shootout scene in Heat after the bank robbery is 10 minutes of pure awesomeness.
