I've never heard any of his songs and don't know anything about him personally, but what's so bad about him? I'm guessing his music is mainstream junk marketed to 12-year old girls, but that doesn't seem like a reason to hate him. Is it because of his stupid haircut? I'm basically indifferent to him, but after skimming his wikipedia page I would say on the surface I simultaneously respect him and feel sorry for him.

I find him to be very entertaining. Great charisma/marketability, decent voice, crappy music. His music isn't terrible enough to warrant my hate, and he didn't come from the Disney tween star factory (don't even get me started on the Jonas Brothers). I think people just hate him because so many others go bat crazy over him, and they feel they need to balance it out. I'm fine with that though. Makes the world that much more entertaining. He needs to stop claiming to be a drummer though. He isn't very good.
