Yeah, it would be hard to sneak chili dogs in under your shirt. :)

    I definitely will.

Actually, Tailgate has some damn good chili cheese dogs now. In fact, I'll be having a couple of them in an hour.

it's a buck a dog, and 2 bucks for the chili cheese version.

Well maybe if you took out the bacon. I make the exact same thing without it. And you can use a lighter cream cheese where you can't tell the difference.

You could use turkey bacon which has less fat in it.

If you give up sweets and let your taste buds re-acclimate, you'll be astounded to find out how deliciously sweet all different kinds of fruits are.

swilkins- I applaud your lifestyle change. That's REALLY how you lose weight long term. When people call it a diet, it's short term. Lifestyle change is the way to go!

The best way to get healthy, outside of working out, is drinking LOTS of water- at least a gallon a day. It really is the fountain of youth. It flushes you out and keeps you young. A close third is eating well, but if you drink lots of water, you can negate some bad eating habits.

I've never quit drinking completely. I love hanging out with my friends every once in a while and having a few beers. It definately makes a difference in your size and how you feel if you cut down on the alcohol, though.

Awesome job! You should be proud of yourself- you're an example to live by!

I get these high fiber cereals with 10 grams in it from Trader Joes. I eat that for breakfast, and then I post in those favorite fast food threads Fatty starts.

With all that fiber, I also have material for those monthly dump threads this forum has.

Well I eat whatever I want, I just don't gorge on anything anymore. Also stopped drinking sodas. Mostly all I drink now is water, crystal light, and a little kool aid and tea every once in a while. Giving up cokes was tough as I was raised on it pretty much, but it's been almost a year now and I ain't going back.

But when I was in extreme weight losing mode, one of my favorite meals was tuna fish from the can with a small spoon of mayo mixed in. No bread, no crackers, nada, just straight up. It was a good source of protein with relatively little calories for what I thought was a pretty filling meal. Also love oatmeal and malt-o-meal.

Oh, and I lost like 50 lbs last summer and have kept it off. Now that my knees are almost pain free I'll probly lose that last 25 or so and be the skinniest I've ever been(190 now).

    woot.

Congratulations swilkins! You have done what I am trying to do! I have a lot more to lose than you did (a LOT more), but I'm committed to eating healthy and exercising. It's been working out great, but I've got a long ways to go.

Anyways, I've gotten really good about eating vegetables now. In the frozen food section, Green Giant has these things called "Simply Steam". They rock -- all you do is put the pouch in the microwave for around 4:30, and and it thaws and cooks the vegetables. It's such a simple way to get your veggies in, and on top of that, they are really good. The one I am addicted to is "Garden Vegetable Medley" -- the others they have are alright, but this one is just incredible. It's got Sugar snap peas, roasted potatoes, and red peppers. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to eat more vegetables.

Keep up the good work swilkins!

I've been trying to eat healthier since I got from Asia and have cut out fried foods and sweets. Unfortunately I've fallen off the wagon a bit with Chinese New Years and Mardi Gras.

As for favorite healthy foods I like baby carrots, broccoli, and I'll take whole grain bread over white bread anyday. I also like veggie burgers and like the ones that are less like meat.

I've seen tuna fish mentioned here and here's a tuna fish recipe that I came up with that is healthier than the regular mayonnaise kind.

Take a can of tuna packed in water and drain. Mix in some virgin olive oil, soy sauce and black pepper to taste. You can also add some celery, red onion or ginger.

Nice, Swilkins, that's a great turnaround you got there.

As for me, basically all I eat is grilled chicken. I'm pretty sure I'm going to turn in to a chicken sometime soon. My diet is basically granola in the morning, some sort of grilled chicken sandwich/wrap for lunch, and grilled chicken with rice for dinner. All I drink is water and beer (but only when I get f'd up). Mix in the grapes and bananas, too.

I prefer a nice greasy pork chop served in a dirty ashtray.
