Exactly. We might be 5-4 or 6-3 right now if T-Mac doesn't get injured. And that is without our potential chemistry. Remember, when we made the moves to get Wesley and Barry and Sura came back this team didn't hit their stride until about 2 months later when we were the hottest, or one of the hottest teams in the league. This will be an elite team by the All-Star Break.
Every game the team, the coach, and every player gets a grade. The spectrum runs from A+ to F-. We've got some Ds in the class, eight games in. We also seen Some Bs, but no real solid A game. It is what it is.
Two trades went down late last December. JVG is losing it, the trades are going to come sooner this year.
No problem with the detailed analysis - even negative - it is all true. Our lack of depth esp at small forward w/out tmac is exposed. I think Gundy is inside the heads of the new guys right now and it will be a few months before they are able to exorcise that demon from their nightmares. Still hoping Sura can come back even to be a sparkplug off the bench. This team is way better off than what we had when Rudy left. Gundy has done miracles to ge the personnel where they are at. They need time to gel. And for Tmac's back to heal. And for Les to make a few payments to the referees union.... But I really don't enjoy reading two things: fire Gundy or trade this or that person - reeks of surrender. There is still ample time to surrender in January. And then the idiot/moron back and forth cr@P. Makes me wonder sometimes if people from both sides of an argument are posting from a 6th grade classroom.
I have the benefit of seeing the Detroit qame before reading this thread. I complain at times and panic as a fan when I see a problem. Last year I panicked when Juwan went down before the playoffs. I felt we would suffer greatly at the 4 and it would ruin our chances after a fine season. Nothing you can do about injuries. BIG M put me in my place and I am glad now. That is what this forum is about- give and take and exchange of information as Rockets fans. There is no better source for Rockets info avalailable than this forum because of the people that post here. I appreciate this forum and the people in it - regardless of opinion -THANK YOU! By the way - I am extremely proud of my team after a valiant effort last nite. No one ever gave up-we had fight and passion. Wes had a great game. Yao was a Noble Tiger - he fought the whole way against the toughest front line in the league. Go Rockets - never give in - we are on the right track!
I hate "voice of reason" threads. The team could be 0-40 and there would still be some moron posting about how they haven't even played half the season.
Thank you. That's been what I've been trying to get across but it seems like 90% of the people that post on this board want to give up and call the season a failure after 9 games! Reminds me of all the "see, told you we shouldn't of traded Francis" posts last year at about this time. I don't know why people overreact like this, but it gets annoying. The Rockets will be fine, they'll win 50+ games, and all of the people proclaiming the end will look foolish in a couple of months. Enjoy your classic moments.
Well let's not mince words here: this is a bad team that doesn't look to get better in the forseeable future but simply pointing out the obvious doesn't label one a "bad" fan. In fact, the amount of emotion and consternation shown here is actually a GOOD thing because it show that folks still care about this team. I'm sure that the Texans organization would kill to see this type of passion still burning in their fans.
The 2005-06 Memphis Grizllies will finish ahead of the Houston Rockets...book it! - Memphis X sig If you're going to have a ridiculous signature, than at least spell the name of your team correctly. LOL
All the whining about how bad the Rockets are is getting tiring. Geez, they had a three game losing streak to the three best teams in the league. I got news for you - the Rockets aren't contenders but guess what - you were smoking something if you ever thought that. This team has some work to do, but I don't think there needs to be any hitting of any panic button. The pieces are there. The coaching is there, but please - teams don't just get together and become magical overnight. Swift and Head are going to take time. Derek Anderson hasn't been charged with a serious role in years. Wesley is recovering from an injury. Sura is out. T-mac is clearly playing hurt. Juwon Howard is recovering from a heart virus. The only guy who looks to be at last year's level or higher is Yao - and frankly, that's something to be hopeful about.
I can't say that I was able to do that but I did graduate from high school in that year. Thanks boomer for making me feel so old. Seriously, I think you need to "lighten up, Francis" and remember that people handle losses differently from each other. There are many people here who expect this team to go 82-0 every season (or at least that is the way it comes across). I think people are just disappointed that the Rockets have gotten off to such a bad start because so many people were predicting big things for our team. We can't have much worse luck than what we are going through now with McGrady being out. We just have to hope that he gets better soon and that when he does come back, he doesn't re-aggravate the injury. In the meantime, all the rest of the team can do is play as hard as they can and ride out this storm. Let's just hope we don't dig too big of a hole. We were like 6-11 last season (or something like that) and turned out okay (even though we lost out on homecourt advantage); I am not going to panic, at least not now.
Texans have the worst record in the NFL. The Rockets have the worst record in the West. We don't have much further to fall.
