That's exactly what I am saying... Without a world beater taking the snaps, this offense really isn't anything special. This shouldn't be the case when you look at the recruits we bring in.
The continuous screens and 3 yard routes GD calls on 3rd and long are mind boggling. The seasons essentially lost. Open up the offense and lets get an idea of what Gilbert can and cannot do.

vince did call the plays, mack said himself that he realized after the season we won the rose bowl he needed to hand the reigns to vince and let him do his thing. we had a lot of talent, but vince cemented that talent. greg davis tried to run the same broke ass option offense in colts first few years, but he wasnt vince young. we whine because this idiot calls plays to the sideline and we never gain a yard because we have no blockers to get anywhere. hes also the biggest girl in the world, we have the most boring offense and it was only effective because we had vince young and colt mccoy, one a physical beast and the other an accurate system passer who had a 6th sense with js and qc as for that skinny qb, he looks okay at times, he looks scared at others. its his first year, our team isnt that good, hes got all year to show us what hes got. greg davis should be fired mack brown should become the permanent recruiter and muschamp should become head coach

I'm happy to say there was not a single sideways pass attempted all game long by Texas. And the running game was entirely north-south instead of east-west.

It shouldn't. Greg Davis showed the same problems this year that he showed in the early 2000s. Don't trust the QB until you lose a few games, and then start doing what he should have done since day 1 - for example, scrapping the east-west offense that EVERYONE knew didn't work. He did it all the years we were losing to OU in the 2000-2004 range, and he did it again this year. It's a pretty consistent and hopeless pattern with him when he doesn't trust his QB. But all that said, the game yesterday was won by the defense. The offense didn't make mistakes (a huge step forward), but statistically, it easily had its worst output of the season - but it was against a good defense and they didn't need to do more, so that's all that they needed.
