Obviously worst case scenario is worst case scenario. By that same logic, it's possible that he becomes a poor man's Kawhi and you just let him walk to another team rather than pay $25 mil because you were scared he was so damaged he would never be able to pass a physical again.
I don't get that vibe. I get the vibe like they are trying to put a positive spin on things and hoping for the best, but they know the underlying issue that is causing the problem.
Man what kind of injury is this? Very frustrating and concerning. We all want to see him back ASAP and play rest of the season.
I guess when Udoka compared him to Kawhi, who knew he was comparing him to being injured all the time.
I have been a fan of the Rockets since Hakeem was drafted #1 back in the ‘80s. I’ve seen my share of injury-prone Rockets: Sampson, McGrady, Yao, etc but I think Eason tops them all.
I agree with Ime, Tari played 22 games last year and played 24 games this year. Def a different situation from last year.
So what happened with Tari? Going to talk like a layman here.... He was having an issue with one of his bones in his leg that wasn't from an injury he sustained? Then he had surgery and a rod was placed in his leg to correct this issue? He's been having pain in the leg recently?
So Tari has missed 10 games now. In those, we're 7-3 with 2 losses that should arguably have been wins (T-Wolves and Heat). And yeah, most of those were against not-great teams. Still, this is a strong team even without Tari. We've gotten to the point where we usually take care of business against those weak and mediocre teams. That's great to see because last year we often struggled in those games. But 7 of our next 11 are against good teams and only 2 against poor ones. Without Jabari, we really need Tari back.
he had a benign growth on his shinbone I believe. He suffered an injury to that area and it got inflamed. After a long period of rest, it still would hurt when he played, so they opted for surgery. They removed the growth but put a rod in to stabilize the bone. It was major surgery and he spent the summer recovering. After the first quarter of the season with no restrictions it has apparently started hurting again. No idea if that is normal part of the recovery process or if he overworked himself or if it’s part of a longer term problem with his leg that may need additional attention. That is my understanding of the situation.
Really rooting for him to get back and have a healthy career because he puts 110% effort every minute. You can tell he loves the game
