Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason this week went from no restrictions as he came back from last season’s leg injury and surgery to sitting out for “injury maintenance.” The Rockets, however, do not expect the soreness that returned to Eason’s left leg to be a long-term concern, with Rockets coach Ime Udoka saying Eason’s status will be determined “game-by-game.” “He had some soreness come up in the same leg,” Udoka said. “So, just wanted to give him some days. Obviously, we had the time off (after) the in-season tournament. I think at times, being a little bit stagnant is worse than actually playing, and it stiffened up a little bit. “I wouldn’t say anything different than what we’ve been doing which was ramp him up in the preseason. He got to a comfortable spot and didn’t have a restriction at all. I wouldn’t say long-term, either. It’s a game-by-game, day-to-day thing, and hopefully, it calms down and we have him available ASAP.”

I have an issue with my tibia since birth. Had to be broken and adjusted many times. Had some screws removed at some point. Got "soreness" some time later. Ignored it. Had a stress fracture.

I would definitely think about the long term investment into Tari. I love the guy, but man, it is concerning to see that he may have to be cautious with his career moving forward.
Wish the org was more transparent about injuries. I hate this for Tari. This does seem like a tricky injury. Not gonna jump to conclusions until we get actual facts. But some soreness after a pretty intense first third of the season coming off an invasive surgery can’t be unheard of, no? Calling all doctors. Anyone know anything about recovery from the kind of injury Tari had? The biggest tell was Momster overreacting on Twitter. That is definitely a sign this could be a big deal.
