Tate has to continue playing valuable minutes in Tari's absence. I would to see Tate making a couple of 3's in every game.
Right now Tari has negative trade value. We’d have to give up a second round pick to get a team to take him and his contract off our hands. Very sad because he is an excellent player, but appears to have a chronic injury. Reminds me of the Oladipo situation.
I hope it is, because I am a big fan of his game. 100% hustle 100% of the time. How many teams are going to give up their talent for a player who missed most of last season and has no timetable to return this season? I understand resting a few games here and there, but not a few months at a time. Something isn’t right.
I agree that something isn’t right, sadly. I was objecting to your assertion that we would have to attach a pick to move Tari. I don’t believe that to be the case. But yes, something is up and it worries me.
Keep supporting Tari. He is great. He will be fine, eventually. Good to not take any risks. Clearly, he is walking around and supporting the team.
You can see why they kept him for so long despite everyone wanting to off-load him for a bag of chips. Tari Half-a-sEason continues...
The rod may not be the problem. The rod was inserted to accelerate the healing process. It could be that even with the rod, proper healing has not occurred. Tari and the Rockets have not said WHY he is having pain. I’m sure the doctors have an opinion and Tari and the Rockets have been informed what that opinion is. But, I suppose it could be a few different things. I’m sure this is very frustrating for Tari and the Rockets, just as it is for the fans.
Yes, the human side of it for sure. Frustrating for all. It would be sad if he is the modern Brandon Roy, but not surprising given his history so far. DD
(putting on my hopeful and wishful thinking hat) I always thought it was strange that Tari didn’t play much in the preseason, and then when he did start playing, he was limited on minutes. Then, suddenly, he’s playing at 100% effort with no minutes restriction. It might be that he’s pushing himself too hard and told the Rockets he was fine when he actually wasn’t. Hopefully, this is just him coming back too quickly, leading to a setback. I guess we’ll find out if that’s the case if he returns with a hard minutes restriction (for weeks).
This is beginning to sound very much like what happened to Robert Williams and how it was kept so mysteriously close to the chest as though SOMEONE is trying to hide something. Ime is the coach who pushes people to play on injuries even if it's in the lower body. He's so obviously a guy who thinks toughness is achieved by doing stupid things. I'm going to start a thread about this soon with Celtics injuries and Boston fans' opinions about it. We have a really good situation, he better not turn us into the "what could have been if not for injuries" team. Don't f*ck this up Ime, we're not in a rush to win 1 extra game in a 5 year window. Fatigue is a magnet for injuries, that's a scientific fact, not a mental attitude. Those are the only predictable injuries in basketball. I'll put a completely baseless guess here, in case it turns out to be true: Tari had a routine injury last season Ime insinuated that Tari's not a b*tch to sit out for stuff like that Tari took it personally and pushed through for his mentor He got fully injured, the doctors discovered it They asked when they knew this happened, Tari said "just now" he's never talked about it to anyone, haha just love basketball so much Ime mortified, understands he may have injured a player for his own selfish aspirations, but feels like he escaped Tari injury turns out worse than initially thought They rule it out for the season Ime and Tari keep the secret about Ime New season arrives, Tari healthy Same exact injury flairs up, MAYBE they have to come clean with Stone but not to the public Ime knows he's f*cked up bad, he keeps downplaying it Just a guess. I wonder if you have the same feeling.
