He has missed a few lately with lower leg being the reason is this from his surgery? Is this something he will deal with for years? I hope he is all the way better, we need him, but it is concerning all these missed games. DD
definitely I.D.I.O.T., although JR might disagree. Here’s a reminder of the issues he had last year, and description of surgery. Benign growth on left shin that got hit a couple times early in season. Surgery to remove with bone graft and rod.
When they said Kawhi 2.0, they weren’t lying. On that same “injury management program” Plays in every game, including 5 b2b, playing his normal minutes Mysteriously goes into “concussion protocol” in early December, misses 2 games Comes back for 2 cup games (Warriors/Thunder) Has 5 days off, misses Pelicans game and now out today vs Raptors for “injury management” “4 month period, ready for the start of the season” “Benign growth on lower leg bone, pre-existing, something he had awhile but got hit with a knee a few times” So as DD asked, something for the rest of his career?
Hopefully, they are resting him for the gauntlet we are facing in January. I love Tari's energy and is a perfect rotation piece off the bench. I' m no doctor, but his injury history is concerning and is a reason on holding off on a trade of Dillon which I have advocated in the past. If Tari is going to constantly get injured, we are not as deep at SF as we thought.
Ah yes trade our entire young core for another injury prone player. This doesn’t make sense financially or logically.
I wish there was more transparency on this. It was obvious last year that the injury was serious enough that missing a few games wasn't the solution. Did he never heal from it? Is this simply to get him some additional rest during a light part of the schedule? And if/when he does return, will he be on a minutes restriction and if so for how long? This is kind of important given he's eligible for an extension next summer.
Remember that dunk where he landed awkwardly and a few us mentioned him landing awkwardly but instead we were told him sitting him the next game was a wink wink punishment for going into the stands.
This doesn't really make me feel any better though. If anything it makes me feel worse - why does he need to be rested for the January gauntlet? That's really not a good sign if a 23 year old needs pre-emptive rest for a stretch of regular season games.
