We had a Priest that was reassigned to a "desk job" position. One year, shortly before the election, he walked a very, very thin line, concerning voting, during his homily. He essentially told people to vote for the pro life candidates regardless of their other policy positions. (If only they would have reassigned Priests for more nefarious things, but that's another thread )
Churches stopped pretending to not be political a long time ago. I could post tons of clips of pastors talking like they’re chairman for the RNC
they don’t…so many churches should have lost tax-exempt status for sounding like a damn political rally, but u pretty much never hear about that happening
Ironically, the Pastor is pro-choice, fathered a child out of wedlock and is accused of trying to get the mother to have an abortion.
I look at the quality of polls and not just the poll of polls. 538 actually does a good job of looking at the track record of particular polls. Walker and Warnock are likely headed to a runoff. I have felt all along that the Republicans would take the Senate and still think they will. It is very hard for the sitting President to make gains at the mid-term, especially with a war in Russia, inflation and an uneven housing market.
A lot of people think that black people will stick up for other black people, white people will stick up for other white people... etc. In my experience this isn't true at all. However, maybe it was at some point in the past. Either way, that is what I suspect he is talking about. Again, I suspect it is tied into the idea that people will stick up or support others that are in their religion, race, etc. Maybe, I think that he was going to be in trouble because black women tend to be one of the most liberal voting groups in the country. See above. Meh. A decade ago, twenty years ago? Yeah it would have, but they have been conditioned to not let that impact their vote, plus he is a living embodiment of every stereotype they have of black men, but they can control him. Let's see what white women in Georgia do. It is possible that some of them will break with their husbands and in private vote against him based on how incredibly poorly he has treated women in his life.
What is going on with his pants? Is high waters a thing now? Really not liking these fly preachers and I am not a fuddy duddy, I don't care for being casual but it just screams nonmodesty trying to be the drippyest when you are preaching it distracts from the message. But again whats up with those pants?
all he is doing is following the scripture… and the Lord said, let thy neck be covered in ice, and thy shoes be Gucci…let thy watch shine with the light of the sun, and thy wallet be on swole…fear not those who question your drip, as I will bless u with Balenciaga 1 Corinthians 2:15
the Olympic level mental gymnastics someone who pretends to have principles, but in actuality has none, will go through they don’t actually care about abortion
You can't reason with people like this. The wild part is dude genuinely thinks like this. Like if you put him on a polygraph needle wouldn't move one bit
the games continue…might be time for more pastors like Jamahl Bryant to do their thing since the right wing isn’t even trying to play fair
