That Sherlock Holmes game for the Sega CD system was pretty bad. Come to think of it, most of their games sucked
I was upset with Double Dragon for NES. It looked nothing like the arcade game. ....and niether did Shanobi.
Did anyone else play Strike Commander for PC? The loading/waiting time for each mission was, I s*** you not, at least 15 minutes. H-o-r-r-i-b-l-e. I still have my copy of Fighting Street, the Street Fighter II clone for Turbografx CD. What a freaking turd of a game.
Yeah, there were some god awful FMV games out there. I think the worst one I ever played had Tia Carrera in it, but I can't remember the title. You just sit there and watch video until it is time to hit a button or click on something. Then they give you this ridiculously small window in which to do it. The actual action that needed to be taken was usually pretty easy to figure out, but getting it done was frustrating. Edit: Just found it. The Daedalus Encounter. Horrible game.
I remember playing that game, although I could never remember the name. All I could remember was basically the description you gave. I played a few other bad FMV games, although they were mostly shooters IIRC. "Mad Dog McCree" and "Who Shot Johnny Rock?" are the only ones I can remember at the moment.
If those are the same ones that were available on the Turbografx CD and PC, I kinda liked them. They were fun little mysteries. You wanna talk bad Sega CD games? How about Prize Fighter? The worst boxing game I've ever played. They wanted to incorporate full motion video(a cool concept at the time) into the game, but what ended up happening was everytime you landed a punch, it cuts to a video clip of your fist connecting with the opponent's grill. How can you ever develop any sense of rhythm or timing when the game keeps doing that? Another absolutely terrible game I played was Total Recall for the NES. Awful gameplay and maybe the worst music in a game ever.
I remember... it was suppose to be a next-gen flight sim kind of like Wing Commander but with more advanced, 3D graphics. Yeah, I couldn't play it either... was way too slow. Too bad, I really loved the Wing Commander games.
Recent game that sucks: NBA Street Homecourt. Remember how ridiculously fun NBA Jam was? This ain't that...it's like watching endless reruns of the And 1 mixtape--at first it's cool...and then it gets old...fast.
