A few lowlights: Bayou Billy for NES Atari 2600 Pacman, what a pile of dung Road Rash 3D PSX Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics for PSX Chuck Yeager's Advanced flight trainer c64 Top Gun c64
this game wasnt that bad on genesis. i had it, and i liked it. worst game i ever played was Aeon Flux for ps2. and i really hated the Jaws game for NES. Terminator 2 for Gameboy was crap too.
omg yes, was there another level besides the first one where u fly around under that stupid alien ship shooting at everything? I never understood the point, and I never got past the first level.
I loved that game! Gah! That game ruled, too! The NES version was worse. I think I still have nightmares about trying to refuel my plane in mid-air.
VecseySux = TOO EASILY AMUSED LOL, no well I guess I should explain. I just hated Bayou Billy cause it was really hard, a bad ripoff of Crocodile Dundee, and really bad for a Konami game, which at the time were totally awesome. Yaeger AFT I sort of liked but in a perverse way. It was just the REALLY long load times and such, and then for all that you get crappy graphics and you just fly the damned plane around and can't shoot anything. And then if you crash (and crashing, by the way, was much more fun) it would go to a long loading screen and show that pixellated Yeager portrait who would make a snotty comment, "You really augured in on that one" "You really screwed the pooch on that one" Man that was annoying. I wanted to go find him and kick him in the nuts. Edit: I should also mention "Real War" featuring the voice of R. Lee Ermey. For some reason, I was hung over in San Diego on a friday for a wedding that weekend and had no friends. But I had my laptop. SO I drove to the local Best Buy (where I wanted to buy Medieval total war but it was launch weekend and it was soled out). Anyway, "Real War" is an absolute mess of an RTS game from 2001, which manages to just suck every ounce of fun out of hte genre. Shiver me timbers.
Sturgeon's law certainly applies to video games, at least up until the SNES era. Have to echo Ghostbusters 1 & 2 for the NES. WTF?!?! And Back to the Future, another NES classic.
I figured someone would post that. That was my 2nd SNES game ever (after mario world) and I didn't actually think it was that bad at the time. Honestly, it's a terrible game but not one of the worst.
I'm glad I wasn't even born when a lot of these games came out. I almost feel like I owe it to myself to play ET though.
WTF? I still love this game, I hook up my NES every once in a while and always put in American Gladiators for at least a little bit.
E.T. was horrible on Atari 2600... but I beat it. But yeah, it stunk... that and Raiders of the Lost Ark on the 2600 as well. Frustrating.
