Isn't it a catharsis of lust? It also helps prevent prostate cancer, so that might be part of our natural design....
From a Christian standpoint as RHester pointed out there seems to be different levels of punishment for different sins (though I struggle with this vs the whole grace thing) originally posted by RHester The reason I chose pride is simply because most other sins occur when we thing we have to "figure it out" ourselves, "fix it" ourselves or believe we can justify our actions by our own logic -- all prideful things. For the record -- I also don't agree that suicide is a "one way ticket" to hell.
It has been thoroughly documented that Jesus regularly masturbated, and since he never committed a sin, than it must be okay to masturbate.
Well it looks like oral sex aint the sin it used to be either. Ahhh, the Clinton legacy. If I had to chose between masterbation or oral sex, ...
There is no "worst" sin. Sin is sin - any sin is enough to damn you in the eye's of God (if you believe that stuff). A person who swears is just as damned as a person who rapes and murders children. Lots of today's "christians" seem to think that some sins are worse than others - which is a load of horse manure. Those folks are just modern-day pharisees: content thinking they are better, not aware of the hypocrisy of such prejudicial and malformed judgment.
You mean to say you haven't read the Roman Masturbation records? Josephus wrote extensively about teenagers being caught in public bath houses chiseling dirty pictures on the walls too. The most informative masturbation record can be found under the title 'Pilatus Masterbaticus.' Just look up Jesus in the index and you will find the very clear documentation.
oh...that's where it is!!! well, that explains it. i can't read Latin. i'm sure it's all there, though!
