KMart has been overrated his whole career and is now probably a scrub. He might be worth a gamble (if we can get him for 3-4 million), though I wouldn't expect much.
Just to throw this out there, why don't we use Jake as PF along with Yao on C or vice versa? They would be the slowest frontcourt in the NBA, but clogging the middle and help defense would be a strength. We like to set the tempo anyways
id like a chuck hayes type with more size and more offensive skills. someone who can chase down rebounds and can get points off tip ins. the shane battier of power forwards that can contribute offensively when needed and hit the open 14 footer, but wont take shots away from yao and mac.
He is on record as wanting to opt out. I think he would love to play in his home town. He is the guy that JVG always describes as a need, a big that can shoot the 3 and spread the floor. If there is anyway we can fit him in under the cap then CD/Morey need to make a run at him.
While I would love to have Rashard, I think the probability is next to zero do to the salary level and bad blood with the Rox. Rashard is also not a PF and does not play as a big regardless of his height. A true 3 in my book and the last time I checked we had a pretty decent 3!
Brandan Wright ....or trade Battier to Memphis for Durant (they already got Rudy Gay)....or (in all seriousness) Tiago Splitter. -V
don't know about him... hes pretty good in seatle but in la, he was bad just like stromile. we play more like la then seatle. i rather have lewis but with the money he wants i can't see it. i think we should look at a point guard first rather than power foward.
Here are two players that I really want Rockets to get: 1. PF - Brian Skinner from Bucks: This guy is a true hard-working-blue-collar type of guy. He has limited offensive skills but rebounds and blocks well. He can fit well in JVG's system and I look at him as Hayes in a (much) bigger form. 2. G/F - Morris Peterson from Raptors: I know he begins to slow down a bit but he is still a reliable veteran who really can shoot. This can help JVG's inside-and-outside game. Compared to Head, he has more size, which give him the edge on both defense side and offense side in regard to attacking the rim. Raptors were selling him around early in the season when he was injured. Also, these two have affordable contracts for the Rockets and the most important thing is that, they both can fit in well with either TMAC or Yao.
