I thought we already have Head, I guess you need the blue V pills to keep it hard. :D

Battier is the hardest player we got. When others fail to try, Battier is usually there to make the stop (on transition D, etc).

Battier needs his supporting cast to step it up.

Well, he hustles. No doubt about that. But I wouldn't say he's physical. He's not a stronger rebounder or inside scorer. He doesn't draw fouls. He relies more on anticipation and smarts to play defense, rather than physical presence.

When I think of hardness, I think more of a Matt Harpring type player.

Harpring is definitely more physical. Battier is longer, however, and more durable. In any case, I don't think trading away Battier is helpful, since, on many occassions, he was the only one out there trying on D. You need more of that, not less.

Guys like Battier-- and Yao, McGrady, Alston, and Hayes-- are known quantities. You can count on them being what they are.

Morey's overall decision, I think, is whether he believes the guys who have only performed sporadically (Francis, Wells, James, Scola) can become consistent enough contributors by the end of the season. As they stand, this team is capable of beating good teams like Spurs and Suns when these guys perform, but also capable of losing teams with worse records when they don't.

I think the Rockets team were harder last year than they are this year.

We don't have too many really hard guys, but and the one guy who did the most to make us hard left over the offseason.
