Watching Game 5 of the NBA FINALS vs the Knicks.....only to have the network SWITCH TO OJ SIMPSON DRIVING HIS WHITE BRONCO! or was it Game 6?

I was DYING to find out what was happening. Luckily, the network switched it back to the 4th quarter and the rest was history!

Having 3 first round draft picks and selecting Michael Dickerson, Bryce Drew and some other loser I cant think of. What a complete waste of a golden oppurtunity. I love Rudy, but damn, what the hell was he thinking...or rather, drinking.

uh, are you sure you're a Rocket's fan? the game was tied when Drexler took that foolish shot near the end...and MISSED. the Jazz would have won with any type of bucket. and if the Rockets were up, why would they have Drexler shoot the ball at all with time running out?

Jake O'Donald throwing Drex out of the Phoenix game for a phantom call.

I am reminded of so many moments in the history of the rockets reading this thread. But, still, for anyone who actually saw Lewis Lloyd, ( aka black magic), Mitch Wiggins, ( the man with 12 foot arms), and John Lucus, the best point guard to ever play for this team IMO, it's not just about one game or even one series...those three would have been as solid a 3 guard rotation that maybe ever played in this league, and Hakeem had to wait so many years to get another team around him. I mean wasted potential for 5-6 years here. lewis LLoyd, gawd did he have killer instincts and moves that were indescribable. Plus, all three were warriors. it just cut the heart out of a team for years..............

any lewis lloyd film out there anywhere?.....................

Iunderstnd about trades that were never made, etc., but these guys were rockets already...not specuation..that's what makes it such a gigantic tradgedy for me back then....a dynasty that was in place blown apart not by some other team, but our very own players...

I agree totally. That cost us 2 or 3 championships.

Totally agree. Add what happened to Ralph, and that year was the worst in franchise history, which is ironic, since it is arguably the best season, pre-championships. The thrust of what you're saying, though, that Dream had to wait forever to get a backcourt like that again (one could argue that he never did, and would still be waiting), is a good one. Even if Sampson goes out, if we'd kept those three, we would have had a strong team for many years, IMO.

it was the fact that if we had drafted jordan we might have won 6 rings. but im good with 2 b/c of hakeem. and not to mention that if we didnt let dream go to toronto we would have never gotten yao and we would BE in a worse situation than last year...

I'd say Sir Charles getting his elbow/arm jacked up and essentially having his career left for dead after that. A lot of people didn't like him but my GOD he was efficient. "Backin it in, backin it in, backin it in, of the glas 2 points and a foul!" How many hundreds of times did we hear Worrel proclaim that in a game.

Also - The "Franchise" years uggghhhh, he was entertaining to watch when he drove to the basket but other than that those teams played some UGLY basketball.

Have ya'll forgot that we lost Lucas twice? The 1st time, the league gave the previous year's 1st round draft pick(Lucas) to Golden State as compensation for the Rockets signing Rick Berry. The Rockets knew that compensation was a posibility, maybe a future 1st round pick & player; but noone dreamed it would be the current 1st round pick!!!    That was a bit much for a player just past his prime!

While in the Bay area, Lucas developed his coke habit. Had the comp not been Lucas, we would have had Lucas dishing the ball to Berry, Mike Newlin & Murph. We definately weren't lacking for outside shots then! :D

For that reason, the NBA's compensation ruling ranks as #1 followed by Sampson's fall in Boston & The Punch.

When the Rockets missed 13 ft's and played horrible defense against an underestimated underrated Jazz Team.

    :D

    Oh well

    Errrm....I don't think so.

BTW - Did Karl Rove write your sig? Sounds eerily like "Either you support the war, or you hate America."
