I have 3 or 4 VHS's of the playoff years, need to get them put on DVD some day soon. I tried downloading the long vids from the net but it's just too much trouble...lol..

wonder if the celtics finals is out there somewhere? I was doing news while Anita ( I needa a martini) Martini was doing her sports talk on KULF AM.

Larry Bird. what else can ya say?

Trading for Steve Francis. He's turned out to be a career loser like Marbury. Though in the end, I guess swindling the orlando gm for tmac helps to make up for that mistake.

My answer to this question really depends on the way you interpret the question. If you ask what was the most devastating event at the time it happened, for me it is absolutely Stockton's shot. However, if you ask after time it has to be draft nite 2001. The Eddie Griffin trade set this franchise back for years. They blew three number one picks in a relatively good draft. I mean, the guys available after our selections were unreal. I know I hate him, but Parker was available, so was Randolph and Tinsley. Not to mention the fact that Griffin was an absolute zero for the Rockets.

Losing Lucas....then Wiggins & Lew Lloyd. Lucas especially what he brought to the team. That alley-oop to Sampson was awesome....

I agree it sucks that we got zero from those picks, but I doubt we would have drafted Parker, and I really don't think Randolph or Tinsley would've made that big of a difference. I mean, look at Portland and Indiana right now.

I do agree that it would have been nice to have Richard jefferson.

Far and away the best answer. You add Clyde into the mix and everything else...drugs, Sampson's knee shortened career and Malone's thuggish bearhug...would have been much less an issue. Having Drexler instead of Rodney McCray would have re-written everything that followed.

Yes, I agree. I was at the game and I can still remember that sick feeling I had. That was the game where Clyde made the bonhead play of jacking up an ill advised shot with alot of time still left on the shot clock. Plus we got hosed by the ref on the screen that got stockton open. I forgot, but somebody got held on the screen. Everytime we play the Jazz, I think of that game (starting with this Wed).

Can you believe eventhough we cut him, Bowen is still owed $1 million in guranteed money. That is a pretty bad money. I can't believe a guy like that can be sitting at home and still make that kind of money.

I don't know about devastating but the most embarrassing was Calvin Murphy’s rape allegations.

the string of failed draft picks (not including Yao) in the mid-90s onward that doomed the team to mediocraty for so long.

We've been overt his before, but who says the Rockets draft Michael Jordan with the #2 overall selection taht year?

At that point in time, had they made the trade, they would have had Akeem, Drexler, McCray Lucas - and a gaping hole at the PF spot.

They already have a starting 2 in Drexler and a starting 3 in McCray as well as capable backups for both in Robert Reid and Mitch Wiggins. At the PF slot, they have Jim Peterson and Hank McDowell. Why would they draft Jordan and not Bowie, the best PF in the draft (allegedly) at the time?

They probably wouldn't have drafted Jordan, but they may have drafted Barkley, if they had vision (although since they didn't make the trade, that isn't very likely). They could have had the big three for their whole careers.

Most devastating moment was a couple of days ago when Flyin Ryan was cut.
