People should be able to support whoever they want. I mean, would you not be interested if say Chandler Parsons was traded? With that said, the biggest problem I have with this breed of fan is that some of them think they have a right to tell us how to run our team. They all of sudden jump ship and expect captaincy! It frustrates me that they want our team to adhere to their favourite players needs more than anything else. I guess I wouldn't be so but hurt about it if they didn't sound like a broken record all the time. Theres 13 other guys on our roster who deserve equal recogonition to Jeremy. Only our designated max player in Harden deserves anything greater. Does anybody else feel this way?
I don't know about the logic. But I can tell their motive is to say stupid things to get on the nerve of you hypersensitive girls.
Anyone who criticizes Lin is a LOH and anyone who say anything supportive of him is a LOF? Then what about normal ROX fans? They can't give their opinions either way without being labeled one or the other? The real and bigger problem with these boards is not the LOFs or LOHs, it's the ppl who label them as such. I'll admit the extreme ppl on either side are a problem, but they make up only a small percentage of the posters; they're just more vocal about it. Second, this whole join date thing is also ludicrous. There are quite a few 2012ers who detest Lin. And that are quite a few pre-2012ers who support him. Third, I'm seeing a lot of ignorant assumptions about race on these boards. Why is it that "90%" of Lin's fans are automatically said to be Asians?? Lin has fans of various ethnicities all over the US and the world. Is it that hard to fathom a person of a different race liking Lin? (I'm not Asian and I like Lin. I think he has great upside and I like him as a person.) Does this concept not register in some of your heads due to you narrowmindedness or racist thought patterns? That's like assuming all of Harden's fans are African American and all of Parson's fans are white. GROW UP. One point I'd like to make is that some of the arguments brought up by Lin fans are valid. For example, in my opinion Lin for the most part, has been used incorrectly or ineffeciently. Quite a few basketball analysts also feel this way. Are they also LOFs? No. They are giving their opinions based on their expertise. I think all ppl should consider any argument for or against Lin on its own merits regardless of who they think is a LOF or LOH.
You become a fan of a player because you felt connected. You want to share the excitement or love. I do NOT have to agree. I could be fan of LIN and also fan of Harden. I only have problem with LOH or any hater. It just like telling that you SHOULD NOT love your wife because she is ugly, fat...etc. None of your business.
I think this whole thing is overblown, but speaking generally, there is something uncool about going onto another team's message boards to follow one player, and then dictating that no one should be able to disagree with your obsession.
Of course this whole thing has been overblown. Look at the amount of ignorance and immaturity in this thread and in past YOF related threads. It just boils down to a bunch of manchildren crying about their not-so-secret club being "ruined".
Oh...you are so hurt because some fellow posters on a Rockets team forum say a Houston Rocket should go to the all-star game. Are you crying in your mama's lap now?
That's what happens when a few nobodies thought they own this site and want to "purge" some other posters that hold a different opinion. Are these people from some totalitarian countries?
They do own it, and they do want to purge any posters incapable of contributing anything aside from blind fandom to a single player. If Lin can add to discussion and accept criticism of their favorite player than it fine. Otherwise GTFO.
Guys, can't we all just be friends? I mean, regardless of who your favorite team or player is, we're all Stern fans at the end of the day. Don't let brothers kill each other.
Of course Clutch owns this site. And of course those who attack the other posters with unreasonable reasons deserved to be banned. Have I said otherwise? Yes? No? If yes, please quote it out. What I am referring to are those few posters who act like they own this site. They want to purge the posters who express a different opinion than they have about a Rockets player. That's why I question of these people are from some totalitarian countries. They seem to have no idea about what the First Amendment is about.
You have no first amendment rights here except what Clutch allows you. If Clutch determines that what you say is not to be permitted here, it is gone and there isn't a court in this entire country that would rule in your favor. As for the people who are complaining about Lin fans being obsessive and reactionary towards people who don't think Lin is the messiah, it is a valid complaint and one that Clutch has already addressed in the post that was quoted at you. Choosing to insult those who are complaining shows clearly where your loyalty lies, and it clearly isn't to keeping up the quality of this board.
I understand your point. Thanks and advice taken. What I have problem with are the people who lie in order to make Lin fans look bad. Here is an example: Someone then asked him where he saw it. He did not reply. I don't want to speculate that he had just made it up. So I guess we should give him the benefit of doubt that he has seen a poster say something along the line somewhere. But from the way he said it, he obviously is trying to paint a picture that a contingent of Lin fans have the same opinion and therefore Lin fans are delusional. Why did he have to lie to make a whole group of fans look back? That's the actual question that I want to ask.
