Jalen had a small window against teams tanking for the lottery where he performed well. As soon as he played teams competing for the playoffs his numbers went right back to normal.

    One of the only?
And America is divided so was Clutchfans... I guessed 30 pct at least would be against Jalen.

Some just acted in favor of Stone's decision bc otherwise they thought they were going against the organization.....

But being a contrarian does not mean you are not a fan of the team, that is the mental thing some guys cannot get.

I also want to make sure that I do not see Jalen as a bad player but very troublesome...and it proved to be right.

This has been debunked many times. Go look at the schedule again and stop being wishy washy about it. Be scientific. You make it seem like we played 11 straight tanking teams followed by 5 or so games against contenders. In truth he had great games against good teams and bad games against bad teams in this stretch too. It was a relatively easy part of the schedule of course which brings me to...

So how come only one other team had an 11-game winning streak this season? What Banchero and SGA and Edwards didn't have easy stretches in their schedule? Where's their 11 game streak?

Everyone has easy parts of the schedule where they performed better than usual. Turning that into an 11-game winning streak while missing SENGUN is extreme high difficulty in the NBA - even if it was a relatively easy part of the schedule.

Only Jayson Tatum had an equivalent winning streak this season and his team wasn't missing its top scorer at the time. Not to mention his team just had the 3rd best regular season OF ALL TIME. You think the Wolves and Thunder and Magic don't wanna win 11 straight against easy teams?

You should put some respect on that streak. It's not everything but it's childish to act like it's practically nothing. It's going to get really embarrassing for you next season if you keep on this path. For your credibility, I recommend you reconsider.

Last I checked, Jalen Green wasn't the only person on the team. The streak was great, no one can deny that but acting like only Jalen was the only reason for it is ridiculous. Yes, he got on a hot streak and played out of his mind but that's not the new norm. All players get hot and all players go back to the mean. You can be sold that there is a new and improved Jalen, but I'm not. If that tarnishes what little opinion people have of me then so be it. I know what I know at this point.

IMHO Amen made half of those transitional buckets possible, dude is unreal and can play with any complimentary fast guards.

No, it's not only Jalen but Jalen was the unquestionable leader of it. Stop being obtuse, you know how this works. If the Celtics win 11 straight with Tatum scoring better at the rim and mid range and 3pt line and playing better defense, that means he gets the most credit for those wins (not all credit). You can't dismiss that with just "oh he was just on a streak".

If someone had told us Jalen would go on a hot streak against a soft schedule and we're missing fully or partially Sengun, Tari, Cam while Brooks/FVV are dipping there's no one on this planet that would predict Green's box stats would lead to 11 straight wins. A hot streak is typically just SHOOTING but it was clearly not just his 3PT shot stepping up.

It's already hard for the best team in the NBA to beat the worst teams in the NBA 11 straight times no matter who is on fire.

You wanna dig your heels in be my guest but there's a big difference between "I'm stubbornly not buying in" and "the streak of games only happened cause the opponents were easy". You've been busted on your exaggeration of those opponents weakness and on ignoring the injury issues at the time and on ignoring the correlation to wins.

Just to be clear in the month of March with 15 games, the Rockets were 13-2.

In those 15 ganes the Rockets had around a -5 pt differential per game when Green was resting on the bench. He was the only rotational player where the team had a negative pt differential per game during that stretch when they rested. The team was still in the positive when Amen and FVV were resting during that stretch

Basically the Rockets were one of the worst teams in the league the moment Green was resting during a 13-2 stretch.

His on/off impact lead the entire NBA that month.

That isn't a hot streak. That's being a literal MVP of the league for a month. Luka had an absurd statistical month also so he won it but Green was basically runner up. To show how rare it is for a non all NBA player to win a player of the month award, Tobias Harris was the last player to do it in 2018.

The reason it's just dismissed as nothing more than a streak is because the entire reason it happened was that a 33% 3 point shooter magically shot 47% from 3 for 8 games before reverting back and shooting 20% from 3 for the rest of the season.

Since Jalen was a prospect, he was known as a streaky rather than good shooter and that's still the case today, he hasn't improved whatsoever when it comes to that.

If better players play well, it's seen as different, because it's different.

If all players do it, show me another player Jalen's age at any point in history with the same number of 40pt games on over 60% fg and 40% 3pt percentages who isn't either a HOF player or on their way to the hall after retirement? Seriously, find me one single player. You all make out like Jalen's some mundane player and everybody can do what he's done, prove it.

    A 2nd half of a season isn't a small window

The quality of teams didn't matter when Sengun was healthy. Also we beat Phoenix in Phoenix, we beat OKC in OKC and Cleveland. None of those teams are trash. This narrative is false

He wasn't good for the entire 2nd half, he was good for 8 consecutive games and 9 out of 10... then he went back to being terrible.

Not necessarily. The completely unproven rookie doesn’t have to be the focal point of the offense. Green has had the offense force-fed through him for three years, but now we could shift it to Sengun, Cam or possibly even Smith some. I’m not advocating for it, but I don’t think we have to stick with Green just because we are too far down that road.

    But why?

Why would you want to focus more of the offense on Smith? Why would you want to focus the offense more on Cam?

    Sengun sure...

Why do people not make any sense?

Because they are more efficient scorers. You could argue that we should be doing that even without trading Jalen for some unproven rookie.

Because all of them are better players than Jalen Green. The rookie likely will be too... but that's not saying much.

I think what makes no sense is advocating for one of the worst shooters in the entire league to be allowed to keep chucking.

Can you elaborate on them being more efficient scorers?

KJ Martin had a ts% of 63% last season, higher than Sengun ever had and by a large margin also as Sengun never went over 60% for his career. Did we make a mistake trading him away and not making him a focal point rather than Sengun?

Thinking of trading Green for a pick in this years draft says a lot sbout your thought process and it sure ain't pretty

Jeff Green is a more efficient scorer than Alpi. We should make him the focal point.

This is just patently untrue, and revisionist history. Jalen had the offence run through him for 1 out of 3 seasons, his second. Do we really need to pull up all the posts from his first season where we all complained that he was parked in the corner whilst KPJ and Wood stunk up the court? This latest season everything ran through Sengun and FVV, so where exactly was the offence force fed through him for 3 years? Did you invent 2 years or some ****?
