Godfather Two is my favorite, but right behind it is "once upon a time in America". This is a fantastic movie, and it blows my mind how many people haven't seen it. Great soundtrack as well ("Deborah's theme" is beautiful).
I feel like Donnie Brasco doesn't get the credit it deserves. Does Blow count? Two great Depp films. That being said: 1 - Casino: It is scored and directed to perfection. 2 - Godfather I: I may be in the minority here, but the development of characters is just superior to all, and you can't beat the split scene in the church at the end (no spoilers). 3 - Goodfellas 4 - Godfather II
You're not alone. I think it's complete trash. Not really a fan of Brian DePalma in the first place I guess. Not saying it's the best, but I really enjoyed Road to Perdition, primarily because of the father/son dynamic. Layer Cake, Lock Stock and City of God were all great films. But I'm not much of a gangster movie type...I still haven't seen any of the Godfathers. Yes blasphemous I know.
This right here is the greatest scene in cinema history! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/I5m4jpUyb-g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
