Actually context is more important than overall percentage. Context shows that the Rockets poor three point percentage has a lot to do with just taking a lot of contested three point shots vs the Bucks. You need the context to understand WHY.
If you want context, you also need to know why they take so many contested 3s. Is it because the system does not generate enough open shots? Is it because they have poor shot selection? The accuracy of open shots just tells you whether we have good shooters. The overall percentage tells you more about the offense and the execution.
Threes are not easy, period. That's why they're worth three points. Hitting 2 out of every 5 is considered incredible. Building the entire offense around them pretty much always guaranteed there would be massive weaknesses no matter how open the shot or how good the shooter. You need more than artillery to win a battle against a good opponent. Even if you do happen to also have the greatest ninja/saiyan leading the attack.
