I like how after every game this thread is bumped. How can Rafer keep on getting worse, when he is already the worst? It's crazy.
While I agree about the pitiful shooting. If you've watched him carefully in tonight's game, he is like a floor general who commanded his soldiers, I saw plenty of him calling plays, directing players and commanding the pace, and yes I also saw the bloody bricks . Anyhows, Houston's offense started flowing and we started getting some stops when he came on the court in the 4th quarter. If his FG% goes back to his career average, it will be at least watchable. At this point, we still need Rafer Alston, he stabilizes the team. Luther Head and James won't run the offense anyway near as well and Steve is yet to show some signs. Seeking a trade is encouragable but we need to give players (not just Alston, Battier James, Luther, Scola) all a chance to play our of their shooting slumps. _ Blues
The time for analysis is over. Rafer just sucks. We've been watching this for a while now. He's not going to change for the better or improve. He has no business on this team.
now we need at least a play maker on the court. Tmac is injured. Rafer should be benched because he is not a play maker. we should try AB or SF.
alston wasnt the problem tonight, he pushed the ball up the floor well, which got wells a buncha shot and ft's slashing to the hoop and he fed everybody.............wells missed big time ft's, shane battier missed a potential tying 3...........yao can't shoot 6-18 with tmac out of the game and expect other people to make up for that, plus Yao missed big ft's down the stretch. Mike James had more turnovers than buckets.........kobe hit the shots when it mattered, and lakers hit their ft's when it mattered. And Tmac, my god, he barely hit your arm, man up! if alston is benched, you are sure to see yao's shot attempts go down cause no one else feels like passing him the ball every time down

I expect the typical reasoning for you is: 1) Rafer had TWO BLOODY TURNOVERS. 2) Rafer CAN" SHOOT FOR **** AND HIS THE REASON WHY THE REST OF THE TEAM SHOT SIMILARILY WORSE ASWELL!!! 3) RAFER IS THE REASON YAO MING MISSED HIS FTS AND WAS BODIED UP BY KWAME AND GENERALLY SEEMED TIRED 4) RAFER WAS THE REASON T-MAC GOT INJURED 5) RAFER IS THE REASON MY BELOVED STEVIE IN SITTING ON THE BENCH 6) KILL RAFER Please do it, kill him, so there shall be no more b****ing. _ Blues
I couldn't believe Rafer was on the floor when we desperatly needed a shot. Mainly a THREE. Rafer couldn't hit a beach ball with a bat.

Damn, can Rafer even do good in a college game? I mean his floaters aren't going to fall just cause he's playing college kids, there going to be the same exact tear drops. Same awkard shooting form resulting in the same exact misses. And I'm not a Rafer hater, I don't have much of a problem with him, but..
Jeff Vangundy said it perfect. When you double team Yao and Tmac your guards have to hit shots. Okay we already know Hayes is no scorer. Battier is in a slump so that leaves Rafor. Damn if you Rafor lovers cannot see that he is just a horrible shooter then your blind. He sucks ! He sucked last year and the year before that ! Bring on Stevie !
Erm, a career .383 FG% .355 3PTFG% shooting at 300 FG% and .212 3PTFG% is considered a SHOOTING SLUMP just like how Mike James, Shane Battier and Luther Head are all on shooting slumps. Rafer's slump just looks much worse because he was never a good shooter to begin with and his bricks are very well memorised (and hated) in the minds of fans. With our role players' shooting so bad as of now, there will be no where to go but UPWARDS in the future as we pick up RA's motion offense better and shoot out of our shooting slump. Again, you're arguements are just stupid because they are politically INCORRECT. I can shoot a career .255 FG% and shoot 5 games at .125 FG% and yes that is still considered a shooting slump. _ Blues
Rafer is on a slump too. His ability to hit an open shot is actually very undderated. But this year he is truely sucking balls. Steve is just as bad a shooter and will run the offense 50% the quality Rafer will. _ Blues
Rafer is pathetic. How the hell is this guy our starting point guard??? The guy cannot create, and to top it, when he gets open shots, he can't knock them down. Dumb mistake of the Rockets to hype this guy up to trade him. Actually is sad and pathetic that Morey went this low.
I can't believe Rafer just played 38 mins..... Rockets had ZERO options last year but this year with Brooks and Francis how is Rafer still playing 38 mins? Adelman is a bigger Rafer lover than JVG... sigh.
