I like the spin. It should be....

Should Rafer be replaced? The answer is pretty obvious. Problem is his contract. No one wants to touch it.

Your format is reserved for good/great players. Rafer just falls short.

rafer is the only one that wants and tries to get the ball to yao down low. and yaos gets minimal touches already. rafers our distributor...until we can find someone better he fits the bill

I still have the memory of someone on the board saying Rafer is as good as Deron Williams or Rafer can average a double-double fresh on my mind.

Are we not 3-1 against these elite PGs with three of the four games played on the road? It isnt about Rafer winning his matchup with any of them. Look at the matchups in our favor. You think they are happy to have Kwame Brown, Okur, Diop and Oberto matching up with Yao. Maybe the Okur matchup cuz of how things have played out, but clearly we have the edge against the others. The Lakers, Mavs, and Spurs will probably forfeit the series if they face the Rockets.

I think Rafer Alston won't finish the season starting as our point guard. An out of shape Steve Francis is better than a health Rafer Alston on any given day. Rafer can't play under pressure, just take last year's playoff performance as an example. In addition, he shot an airball in the crucial minutes in the 4th quarter against the Spurs. Afterwards, they left him open to shoot, and he was too scared to take the wide open shot. The reason why Steve is not playing is because of his ego, thinking that he would come to camp with the starting point guard position in his possession. Rick Adelman is transforming Steve into the "Old Stevie", the competitive Stevie, not the ball-hog nor selfish Franchise that comes to our mind. In order for him to earn his position, Francis must prove that he can run Adelman's offense. Adelman know the guy is a great player, but coming into camp out of shape is not going to earn you the starting point guard position for the most anticipated team to win the West this year.

i'd agree with that. kinda indisputable really.
i really despise bashing a player on your team - esp when he is contributing.

we've got some tough calls with our guards this year.
all can contribute, and all contribute something a little different.
steve isn't there b/c his contributions are too much like mike james
and Adl choose James over Stevie...

Wow, Rafer has to be the worst PG in the NBA

Wow, Rafer has to be the worst PG in the NBA

Is it just me or is Rafer just getting worse every game?? I just witnessed Rafer turn the ball over on a 2 on 1 fastbreak with T-Mac running by him. Absolutely horrible. Is Steve Francis really that bad?? I'd take Francis and his heart along with his low Bball IQ, than Rafer and his crappyness in every Aspect of the game. Rafer brings nothing to the table, while Steve brings heart to the team. Honestly I dont see how some of you actually think Rafer is a legit PG. Steve please get back into shape soon and quit pouting cus Rafer is paving his own way out of the lineup.

You might not like him, and I might not like him, but he is far from the worst pg in the league.

if you francis lovers really think steve needs to play, how about we trade alston and head to the kings for bibby. bibby starts, and francis gets luther heads minutes.

Ya, that's what I thought too. Adleman is proving he's the Alpha Dog. He's gonna whip that guy into shape.
