Bayou City: Why in the world would we be proud to say that we have lots of ditches to catch excess drainoff ???? Whoopti-firggin-do Space city: When I was a kid (and before beltway 8 was even a dream) Johnson Space Center was way-the-hell-out of Houston, and so I never understood why Houston was called "space city". I guess that as the city has grown, it's closer to Houston now. I guess it still doesn't ring home with me. The H: W T F ?!?!? gimme a friggin' break. Reminds me of "The Ocho" from Dodgeball. We are the ORIGINAL first letter city .... H-Town Screwston ....for obvious reasons Space City works too, but we need more space-like stuff in the city of houston The H is ok Bayou City
H-town is terrible. It's the same number of syllables as Houston and it means the exact same thing... it doesn't convey anything unique about Houston. Bayou City... sounds too much like Louisiana. Space City... too 60's. Still, I can't think of a good alternative.
