What is the best way to refer to a draft pick?

    I would think so because it's still their number one draft choice in the draft.

    Glad you brought this up, I was wondering if anyone else was irritated by this as well.

    What so difficult about just saying what their actual pick ranking was? Joe Baller was the 15 pick in the draft or the 44 pick in the draft.

    Everyone knows that a particular team would not actually get 14 or 43 picks before their actual pick.

    Also, say the Rockets has 3 picks, I really don't care how the Rockets actually used their picks, I just want know the player's actually pick rank in the draft.

    Let's say the Rockets traded two second round picks for a 1st round pick or that we traded for someone after they were picked by another team, then also, I just want to know when they were actually picked by their original drafter.

    IMO, this would be way more informative to me than what Bill is doing right now.

    This thread may not be justified but...

    That pisses me off too. its just weird and annoying. If a team has the 60th pick in the draft under the aforementioned logic he could be the teams #1 pick too. Just call him what pick he was taken.
