I'd be up for a T4, especially if they could get Cameron and maybe Hamilton back.

Dude, that's the same link I posted :)

Obviously no one has seen Matrix Revolutions yet, so I can't say for sure if the Matrix is the best Trilogy ever. I know the 3rd will be better than the first 2 and those are 2 of my favorite movies, so I'll say Matrix and Star Wars. Star Wars can't is in it's own league, can't be touched. I really like the Matrix though, so I say both, even though I voted Star Wars.

Star Wars easily. The entire series was groundbreaking work that set the pace for all technical and special effects for decades. Even now with all of the CGI in movies, the Star Wars trilogy is still far better IMO.

Star Wars....are you guys kidding....watch the first one again...it is a decent "B" movie at best.

Even Alec Guiness said he was embarresed to be in the movie it was so cheesy.

Not to mention the latest ones just SUCK !!

LOTR...hands down....both movies so far have been better then any Star Wars movie...and if the third is as good, they will go down as the best trilogy of all time.

Hate to get all artsy fartsy, but any of you seen Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge? Excellent trilogy of sorts.

If I had to go for the trilogy that had the greatest effect on me, Star Wars, easily.

If I had to go for the art of filmmaking, it's the Godfather Trilogy, although I am not as tarnished as some because I have never watched the 3rd Episode, even though it was given to me as a gift years back, because i herard it ruins the series, and I don't want it ruined.

If I had to go for great all around movies: acting, fun, action, direction, and story couple with that sense of wonder at a movie theatre I so rarely get anymore as an adult, it has to be the Lord of the Rings Trilogies.

Others which haven't been mentioned but, in their own way, deserve to be so included are Barry Levinson's Baltimore Sagas, Kirosawa's examination fo Life and Death with Honor seires ( sort of), Neil Simon's trilogy about Brooklyn...Jaws...heh heh...

    best. trilogy. ever.

oh, you are talking about movies? Thats what i get for answering before reading the thread. ;)

    Star Wars..definite.
parts 4,5, and 6 comprise the best movie trilogy ever. Followed closely by LOTR(I'm assuming, since ROTK hasnt been released yet)then Matrix(same as above)

I voted Lord of the Rings. Now I am a Star Wars nut, but I can recognize that there were many, many problems even in the original trilogy. Empire is probably my favorite movie ever, and I really don't have much in the way of complaints about it *cough* not enough space battles *cough*. A New Hope was severly lacking in pacing first half equals slow, second half equals fast. The real travesty was Jedi. You have the stormtroopers, who are the shock troops of the Empire. Then you have the fact that the Emporer claimed to have a legion of his best troops (ie better than even your average ST) on Endor. This army of elites is taken apart, BY F-ING TEDDY BEARS INCLUDED TO SELL PLUSH TOYS TO BABIES. That is worse than Jar-Jar, Jake Lloyd, the Camino cloners, and Obi-Wan's running comentary in the speeder chase at the beginning of Clones combined. Now, if RotK ends with a bunch of freakishly large eyed Hobbit children (see FotR) slaughtering the Nazgul, I will change my mind, but I read the books and I don't expect this to happen.
