Dude, just asking a simple question. Was wondering if a parent would call children a parasite.

And you can ask Clutch if I am Indian or not since you are worried about it. He knows my real identity.

Wealth inequality until you fix the problem of stagnating wages while necessities like healthcare, fuel, housing, tuition, etc. continue to skyrocket nothing else matters.

    Good thread, texxx.

There's so many. Foreign relations (stop occupying countries), mar1juana (legalize it), abortion (for it),...

I would have to say civil rights. I think we are rapidly giving them up with things like the Patriot Act, TSA, NDAA and so on. I guess gay right's would fall into this category too.

Making abortion illegal on paper would not stop even 25% of abortions. In the days when you actually had to have a doctor to perform one, that may have been the case, but in the days of RU-486, prohibiting abortion would be exactly as fruitless as prohibiting drug use.

Of course, if all the pro-lifers poured their time, money, and energy into strategies that ACTUALLY reduce unwanted pregnancies, abortion rates would definitely drop more than 25%.

The fact is that Abortion will not be overturned. That ship has sailed and Pro-Lifers do not understand this at all. It is a wasted battle because the country as a whole do not want to live in a Pro-Life country. I would say most people are uncomfortable with the idea of abortion, including myself, but a whole lot less will actually support banning.

So this is a great comment, because if pro-lifers really wanted to save lives, as you so intelligently have pointed out, they could do so by figuring out how to reduce unwanted pregnancies.

But that would go against the ultra right wing position against sex education and contraception promotion and expose the hyprocrisy.

The double standard is terrible. It's ok to sacrifice freedom of choice for a woman to protect a fetus....but god forbid you tell teenagers how to avoid getting pregnant in the first place - better to let them get pregnant and fight the abortion they are probably going to have regardless.

Hard to narrow it down to one, so I will do a ranked list...

    1. Campaign finance reform/banning lobbyists

I would go with publicly financed campaigns and the only people allowed to make appointments with legislators are people who actually live in the politicians' districts, you know, constituents.

    2. Tax policy reform

The entire 10,000+ pages of the tax code as currently written is a massive giveaway to the wealthy and connected. I would go with a consumption tax with enough exemptions to ensure that the regressive nature of a sales tax is countered.

    3. Drug policy reform

We could turn around our nation's budget by ~$150 billion per year by ending prohibition. Let the states take care of their own substance ingestion issues just like they do for alcohol and tobacco.

I am of the opinion that every single female in this country should be taught the material in the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by the time they are 12. This alone would reduce unwanted pregnancies dramatically.

Pretty sad state of affairs from the conservative mindset. I'm sure this is more in line with Texxx's thinking.

“My number one agenda is to get Obama out of there. After that, I’ll look at the issues.”

    State rights. Examples such as:
-Legalized online gambling in states which legalize it
-No federal raids of state legal medicinal mar1juana clinics/pharmacies
-Recognition of state legal gay marriages (not gay but against oppression)

Unfortunately, neither party supports this. Both parties use the Constitution as toilet paper.

Ron Paul is the only hope for this nation.

In every thread, when someone asks what's your #1 or your favorite, everybody has to list 5 things.

    #1

    is singular.

The whole topic of abortion rights is the biggest hand grenade to any reasonable political discourse.

My #1 issue is education....we're falling behind and loaded up with idiots.
