Brooks, Scola, Yao and 2012 Knicks Pick for Antawn Jamison (Expiring), Mo Williams and 2011 1st round pick.

Houston gets an Expiring in Jamison, who also is serviceable SF/PF, a backup PG who may be bought out and Cavs 1st round pick.

Cleveland finally stops losing and starts competing. They also get a pick and cap relief.

The key here is getting Cleveland's pick. I don't know how interested the Cavs will be but its worth a try.

Cavs organization just might fall for that the way they are losing...

    God no.

Scola is a borderline allstar/2nd tier player on a really good contract. This gives him very high trade value. Morey has stated that he is the name that most trade calls are inquiring about and Morey wont let him go for cheap.

As Ive stated before in other threads, Thabeet would never play under Rick Adelman. If you get frustrated with Hill making mistakes in Adelman's system, you have no idea what you are getting yourself into with Thabeet.

Thabeet is a project center and still about two summers away from producing consistently at the center position. Which then might put him in a category of Centers along the lines of Nazi Mohammed or Brenden Haywood. Not exactly what you would give up your best trade piece for.

Now AB for Thabeet I would do. I just dont see them yielding that much in a trade for AB without taking back alot of salary. Most likely the Rockets will re-sign AB in the offseason at a discounted price, but if you can get a player that can help in the future it is worth it to me.

Scola, however, can bring you much, much more in return.

I'm not sure why PHX would do this trade. I'm not saying they wouldn't, but they are not that close to contending. They would need to make other moves instead. Scola is good, but he's not that good to put them over the top with only what they have now.
That being said, I would also not make this trade. Scola is worth more than a couple of bench role players (I know Lopez is starting, but he's really just a figurehead...Gortat is getting the minutes).
I think OKC or ATL would be good fits, although I'm not sure what ATL could give us. Both of these clubs could use some additional post scoring, and Scola would complement Horford well with ATL.

Chuck Nevitt Shawn Bradley and Adonal Foyle all rolled into one is Thabeet. That means a couple more seasons to develop into a 6 minute per game backup fifth big on an NBA roster and float around the NBA for the next 10 years as teams keep giving him a million dollars a season because they are betting they can turn him into something more than that.

Exactly. I keep on saying, what good is it to have a 7'2" center that wont be able to see the court anyways because of foul trouble anyway. The defense has way more issues now other than shot blocking.

This team is actually 15th in the league in shot blocking, but one of the last ranked teams as far as overall defense. Thabeet wont make the difference most people think. They need more height and length yes, but they need good height and length.

A shorter but overall better post player like Nene would be exactly what the Rockets need and can be productive now and for 4 more seasons.

As far as Scola goes, him being traded could yield wonders for the Rockets on the defensive end. However, losing him creates problems on the offensive end being able to throw the ball into a solid offensive post player.

I love Scola but we are all looking past the elephant in the room here. He is far and away the worst defender on the team at one of the most critical defensive positions on the team. The guy is on the wrong side of 30 and his value is probably at its peak right now. By the time we are ready to compete again he will be significantly older and the pressure will be on to win before we are too old.

Trade him for a younger piece thats opens up our window a little.

    Scola + Budinger for Granger
