So are you guys rooting for a JVG extension? If the Rockets decide to get rid of him, I wonder if they would keep the Rowdies going? I sure hope so. DD
Good thread and idea - needs to stay on the first page, maybe even stickied as all these threads about V-Span are getting to me! What I like the most about the Rockets is their chemistry. I never imagined that they would still be in the 6th playoff spot after Yao went out. Shows how much they have come in a year's time with their "non-superstars" (i.e. players that are not named Yao and McGrady).
Since this is a Win now mode season, this is one of the reason why I want the Rockets to play either the mavs or the suns. Which will probably happen anyway if they make the playoffs. You have the mavs and the suns who are on a mission to win a championship vs Tmac and Yao who desparately want to get out of the first round. That will be a great playoff series. For all you JVG haters this is your series matchup. If the Rockets win everybody will be happy and if they lose most everybody will be happy because the rockets will be getting a new coach.
First of all, this is a hell of a post. Very well thought out and my opinions exactly on all the crazyness that is going on. I have been here since pretty close to the beginning and I never seen such polarizing as I do now. I am sorry if this hurts peoples feelings, but I think over half of the problem is that Gundy is a New Yorker and even though he lives there, there is something to the fact that he is a New Yorker first. And no matter how much we try to be politically correct about this, there is still that North vs South mentality. The haters see him as a Knick and will always. Little do many of the haters know that Larry Brown is from Brooklyn and always talks about it during interviews. He will have the same problem. On top of that, he is a total hypocrite. I know I am the number one JVG around here most likely. But I saw him first hand coach here. And I truly love the guy and the way he coaches. NOT ONE PLAYER (with the possible exception of V-Span now) has ever said they didn't love playing for the guy. Don't you love the way he has this team so united? I do. Don't you love the way they play such ferocious defense EVEN with Yao and T-Mac not being in the lineup all the time? I do. Don't you love the fact that we had a KILLER, KILLER schedule so far and we have done really well to the point that we are STILL 9 games over? I do. The league gives him his respect AND HE IS UP FOR COACH OF THE YEAR...yet, some of us think that he is the next coming of the Anti-Christ because he doesn't smile? Because he doesn't crack a joke? Because he is negative? Hey, sorry to let you guys in on a secret. New Yorkers are like that. Grumpy. Negative. But also hard working, loyal and they want to win above all else. This guy probably gets 3hrs a night sleep. The team is always prepared and will go to war for him. Whats not to like, IMHO. I do care about my team FIRST. The Coach does makes mistakes. But to critique every little blink of the eye or breath that he takes makes is so ****ing maddening! You are what you are! And we are a WINNING basketball team who has has MASSIVE injuries the last two years. I will state this clearly. We don't make the second round, injured or not, the Coach should get fired. I love him. But he got his 4 years. And let me also say this. If Yao gets back to speed, if T-Mac gets his back....back. If we are healthy...and thats alot ifs...but if they all come true... I FEAR NO TEAM!!! NOT A DAMN ONE!

what is right with the Rockets? I can tell u what's right with the Rockets: the fact that they have fans like u DaDaKota and like many others who really love the team and care about it enough to question what's going on and seek ways to improve it rather than blindly accepting the negative things and being content with "our current winning record" like many people here sadly do.

Let's see how the Rockets play against the softer portion of their schedule.... If they can win a lot of the next 5-10 games.....they could really over take San Antonio ! DD
