Why would we want a career 31% shooter from 3? Heck in his last 5 games he shot 27% from 2 with 26 minutes per contest. At a career 36.8 shooting average he is the worst shooting veteran pg in the nba. If we picked him up it would be an attempt at a cost saving measure.
Ricky's trade value might not be the best, but he's a good player. His defense and distribution of the ball is top notch. People saying Beverly is just as good are suffering from "sweet lemon".
No one said just as good, but considering that he costs 1/3 as much, is a better 3pt shooter, is a better defender, and has a unique role next to Harden, then it's pretty arguable that he's better for our team.
