My turn. Born in a little town in California called Compton and lived in L.A. for 4 years of my life (no I'am not a Laker Fan, never had & never will). Then moved back with my parents to Mexico, lived there for 3 yrs. Now I've been a Houstonian (damn proud to lie about it too!) for over 10 yrs. Became a rocket fan a season before they won their first championship. Current freshman at UH. ------------------ www.rocketzone.web.com
I grew up in Houston (Deer Park, actually), moved to Lubbock, Texas about three years ago and then to Odessa, Texas about a year ago. Our slogan here? "Odessa's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here." Actually, I like west Texas, but I'm proud to be from the most blessed of all cities. ------------------
Born and raised in LA. Been a Barkley fan my whole life which is not much yet. Followed him from sixer to suns, then over to rockets. Now that he's gone, gonna start following Francis. 1. I've never lived in Houston, but I love the Rockets. Comets too. I have taken quite a few bashing for the rockets crappy year, and Lakers winning. At least we split the series... ------------------ Now that the NBA season is over, check out the preimere source for draft info. Draftsource.net
Well, it's a semi-well known fact now, but I guess I might as well add to the fire... I was raised in Pasadena my whole life. Like, my parents still live in the same house and everything. But right now I'm going to BYU so I live in Utah. I have no qualms about flying home at any time, though. ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
born & raised in the netherlands (no, i´m neither a rik smits nor a serge zwikker fan!!!), then moved to a small town in austria, where i actually live and go to a commercial academy. i became a rockets fan, when chuckie (he and dickie are my two fav. players) came to houston, before i was a supporter of the suns (guess why!). i´m a "die-hard-rocket-fan" and that´s a fact!!! maybe some of you won´t believe me that, because i don´t post here every day, like others here on the board.... the rocks will be my favorite team for ever and ever, no matter if they win it all or suck around, like the clippers i am a real rocket freak...and i´m damned proud bout being one... ------------------ bring dickie back!!!!!
Proud to be a Native Houstonian. Born and raised! ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com
I was born in Oklahoma City and moved all around the south about every year: Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma again. Then lived in the United Arab Emirates for six years (my dad works for Conoco/Dupont) and moved to Houston for high school. Went to school in Ohio for a while, then moved to Santa Fe this summer, Seattle in the fall, then I go to Santa Barbara this summer and move to New York this fall. The opera carreer keeps me movin'. ------------------
it's OK Horse...it IS allowed to live in Pasadena. and it is allright to admit it, if for no other reason than to show everyone that being raised in stink-adena does not make you a slack-jawed,cousin-marrying,cross-burning mutant! PHS class of '83 ------------------ Tired of my sig... Go Rockets Find us a front-court Please!!!!!!!!
now that Nolen and Darkhorse have added their bios...my turn first...I can't wait to meet Nolen my only Flash friend. and also...Darkhorse, with his smile, I can't imagine any activity he wouldn't make more fun. Rockets2k and his buddy ("Hell Ya") know how to appreciate rare fun events. MattsayzIstillbelieve is one to meet, too. Back to geography...I'm from the corn fields of Illinois...mid state. Being from a small town that voted on the HS coach in city council, I know what it is like to be breast fed basketball. In the winter in a small town known for bball, there is not much else to do in January but put away the xmas tree and shovel the drive. But, every Fri and Sat, you get to go to the huge 5,000 capacity arena to see the Silver Streaks, and dream of wearing those uniforms. You all understand Texas football. That is my home town...but basketball. I moved to Houston in '82 to attend Rice U, a warm-weather college. I hate U of H, A&M and UT, but the Rockets are IT!!! NBA Action: Fantastic!!
I've only been to Houston twice...But I live in Texarkana, TX. I migrated here with Charles Barkley. ------------------ The Chuckwagon came, saw, and threw people through windows!
Born in the Virgin Islands and grew up in LaPorte (25 miles outside of Houston). Grew up an Earl Campbell fan and followed Hakeem and Clyde at UofH. Became a Rockets fan when they drafted Hakeem. Move to Dallas in 1983 (college). Still love the Titans and root for anyone who is playing the Cowboys. ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy. A championship in the hand is worth two in the bush!!
would you believe me if i told u that i have never been to a Rocket game, never seen a LIVE Rocket game, (only taped ones), i only get to watch like 2 or 3 games a year, and im a DIE HARD Rocket Basketball fan!! You guys have no idea how bad it feels to love a team so much and not get to watch them win or even lose. would you also belive me if i told u that i only got to watch the 1995 NBA Finals lasy year?!?!? truley a classic series although it's pretty old. oh, i even got to watch Elie's kiss-of-death game. The only games i got to watch this season were both loses, the first to Phoenix at home, and the second at New York. yet, Francis talied 32 points in each, that was nice to watch. Despite the difficulties, i will ALWAYS love those Rockets!! ps: oh by the way, i was born in Houston, but lived there 4 only 3 years, didnt know who the Rocks were at that time ------------------ Dream's Team!
I don't really fit into any one of those categories. I've lived in Beaumont my whole life, but don't really consider that to be that out of town. I go to around 15 games a year for the Rockets. They always have been and will be my favorite team. I started watching when I was a little kid in the late 80's during Hakeem's early years. I've been hooked on him and the Rockets ever since. ------------------
I was born in Houston, and raised around there for awhile, but most of my life I have been in the Valley, a group of cities close to the border, including Brownsville and South Padre. I have been up there quite a bit, but when I go, I used to spend my time in Pasadena with my family. Havent been up there in a couple of years. Never been to a Rockets game. Never realized I even liked bball till the Rockets won me over in 94. Take away the stinky refineries, and Pasadena reminds me a lot of the Valley. ------------------ I'm not a role model.
I am definitely a 1. I was born in Dayton, OH, now live in Cincinnati and have never lived outside of Ohio. Hakeem Olajuwan was what brought me to the NBA in 1984 and Clutch City way back in the the early 90s was what made me the diehard fan I am today. Mike ------------------
Born and grew up in Perth, Australia. Lived in Houston for 3 months in 1990 (work experience) where I saw the Rockets beat Jordan and the Bulls. Hakeem blocked Jordan's attempted game winner - need I say more. As fate would have it, I was transfered to Houston by my company 2.5 years ago and I'm still going strong. Of course, I bought season tickets as soon as I arrived. I lived the championship years in Australia staying up until 4am watching a tape delays. (Avoiding all contact with news during the preceeding day to avoid hearing the result). Now every time I take my seat at the Compaq centre I can't help but think how lucky I am. ------------------ http://rocketdavo.tripod.com
Born in New Haven, CT, but got to Houston as soon as I could (when I was 4). Lived in Houston until 1990. Moved to Dallas (Plano to be precise) and have lived in the Dallas area ever since. I have always been a Rocket fan since I knew what a basketball was. I still follow them religiously. ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
I lived in The Woodlands (outside of Houston)from dec.91-aug.95. I was a fan from the begining of my years in Houston. In aug of 95 my father changed jobs which took us to Raleigh, NC where I am now. Every year my family makes the 3 and 1/2 hour drive to Charlotte(on a school night usually)to see the Rockets play the Hornets. And I promise you this, I am the loudest Rockets fan in the Building. Sometimes though we come down to Houston for a couple of days to visit friends and go to a game. I had always had dreams of going to college up north which I still might do however I am now considering Rice, but being that close might not be good for my studies. ------------------ ~John~ Hi, my name is John and I'm a clutchaholic. Sid, Could you please email me at JohnyRocket24@aol.com I might be interesting in purchasing game 4 vs. Magic. Thanks John ------------------ ~John~ Hi, my name is John and I'm a clutchaholic. Houston NHL
I'm from Columbus, Ohio. I started following the Rockets when CB came on board. I'm also a Cowboy fan, something about those TX teams! ------------------
