Where exactly has he shown to play scared? Yeah, he had a mental gaffe there by mucking his hand, but you dont win as much as he has by playing scared. He's the youngest to have 6 bracelets and he's a monster online. He's incredibly versatile and he's among the best no matter what game he is playing. I dont think that would amount to him playing scared and being respected too much.
he wasn't saying Ivey was playing scared. He was saying Ivey does well not necessarily because he's that damn good, but the aura built up around Ivey causes players to make mental mistakes due to playing scared.
Yeah, it's not because he's just that good There is a reason people are scared. It's because he is that good. I'll take the pros word (and witnessing the man in action throughout this main event) over yours and DDs.
ivey's just incredible, definitely best all around player. but imo negreanu's pretty highly overrated, the general public is usually amazed by him because he is very vocal about his reads. however all poker pros and many winning online players can put their opponents on a similarly accurate range of hands. negreanu's also only really good at tournament play, he is pretty bad compared to other pros at cash games (watch him on the show high stakes poker) where the stack sizes are much greater and play is more complex.
I'll take my reading comprehension over yours. I wasn't making an opinion of my own, merely restating it more clearly for someone that missed the point. Kind of like what I'm doing for you right now.
agreed to a point. I mean Negreanu is currently the ALL TIME tournament earnings leader, and he hasn't been to a main event final table to really boost his earnings. As for cash games....I concur, but at least he has the balls to play high stakes poker. Many other tournament specialists pros avoid it of won't do unless they're staked.

You came across as agreeing with DD. I know exactly what he meant. Whether you agree with him or not, my point is that Ivey is that good. He knows how to extract maximum value with his bets, protect his hole cards and is at the very least the 2nd best at reading opponents (Negreanu #1 for sure, he just doesn't trust his gut enough). People play scared against most pros for the simple fact that they are the best at what they do. It's only human nature to be at least a little intimidated when sitting across from the table from one of these guys.
You don't know what I meant...lol.... I meant people play scared of him too often......and it helps Ivey......and that you can't play scared against him......he will use it to his advantage. I think Ivey and Daniel are the two best in the world, Ivey intimidates the weak minded, and Negranu is uncanny with his reads on people...actually they both are..... Agreed it is human nature to play scared against pros, but if you are going to play against them you can't be scared......you will get owned. DD
Sure...your cryptic abilities baffle me DD. Anyway, hey, you play from time to time right? Do you play with any folks in Belterra or "The Rock"?
bump. looking for more guys to play in my home game; we play $1/$2 no limit. If you're interested, email me at theheightspokergame@gmail.com
