It seems to me that a lot of girls are the same. Not only the makeup (which I'm usually too lazy to wear/ don't see the point in), but also the hair and clothes that are always the same as those of their friends. The identical mannerisms and shallow conversations. The way any interaction with a male has to be overly flirtatious. The inability to concentrate on anything too hard. They like personalized items with their names on them, because that's the only thing unique about them: whether they're an Ashley or a Jennifer or a Crystal or a Heather. Well, it's just a name. It's just a word. It doesn't make you an interesting person. I think a lot of them have the capacity for intelligence but choose not to use it.
Oh yeah, for a guy who thinks to the point of insanity, I definitely choose intelligence. Some geek girls are so driven in their field that they bring out nothing in terms of street smarts/personality but could be brilliant in an esoteric way. Still, I'd find them sexy for what could be lurking inside... It mostly depends on the setting. If you're at a bar or a party, the guy is also supposed to act that way but more aggressively. Maybe they've mastered the art of acting drunk without drinking... assuming that there's anything inside there at all. Yeah, those types have been lead to believe that acting that way will attract the most attention and it does... for certain males. When you say "a lot of girls are the same" maybe the other girls who don't act that way don't get noticed by you?
I thought this thread was about greek girls, and i was about to post a whole page about how they are ughhhh(no offense)
You guys can have the geeky girls. That just means more blonde haired, blue eyed and big breasted babes for me
Nope, it isn't Beth Littleford. It's like Rachel something. Damnit, anyone know what her name is? She also does those Quaker rice cakes ads.
Ok, got it. It's Rachel Harris. She wasn't on the Daily Show. I was mixing her up with someone. But that is her name.
You guys and Isabel crack me up in this thread! It's funny to have this topic since most people don't bring this up. Based on this thread however, I'm going to the eye doctor and ordering me a pair of glasses. JK. I do make it a point not to wear them out when I'm at a bar though. I guess b/c I'm Asian, there is no need to look more stereotypical. But I do have a bf so there is no need. My bf says that's one thing he really likes about me, that I can carry conversations with him and that I'm intelligent. Evidently his ex wasn't the smartest thing out there. Plus I don't wear much makeup either, only when we go out on weekends or to weddings, etc. Just lipstick for work (otherwise, I just look tired and crappy). I actually had to learn how to apply make up for my sister's wedding a few months ago and I was 26. It was funny b/c we'd stay in on nights and I'd apply make up b/c it really takes practice to evenly blend the colors. For the record, I'm not a self-proclaimed geek...but I def don't fit the blonde hair, blue eyed, big boob girl that plcmts17 referred to.
I know, right? Why is that? Obviously, not all guys lean towards the geek girls, but a lot of us do. I say we form a club. See, now THAT's geeky.
Hot chick + Asian + glasses = super hot Imagine the girl below but with some nerdy cat rimmed glasses.
Well that pretty much explains why you somehow out of all the poeple on Myspace found Dianne. haha.....no, I'm not calling her a geek (although judging from this thread it's not so bad to be called a geek). But I must say she's pretty outside the mainstream, a little dark and off the wall ........and cute too!
Interesting thread. It seems that the geeky girls brought up here are still hot, I mean Lisa Loeb, Allyson Hannigan and Morgan Webb would be hot whether they wore glasses or not. IMO the attraction to geekyness is a fetish for glasses, short hair and the alternative look. On an already physically attractive woman it makes her look hotter but I suspect that most guys here wouldn't look twice at a geeky girl who was overweight, had bad skin or bad teeth or any of the things that make a lot of geeky guys less than appealing to the fairer gender. Also just because a girl has that geeky look doesn't necessarily make her very intelligent or a great conversationalists. A few weeks ago helping out at TV station for Katrina relief one of there camera operators was a rather attractive geeky girl, really pale skin from spending all day inside either working or playing computer games, kinda skinny, awkward way of moving, odd slovenly fashion sense and of course glasses. After she was done with her shift she hung out at collection center and we hit it off for awhile. At first I thought she was really cool but after awhile I just realized she was just weird (not a problem in and of itself) and was still living at home even though she was well into her 20's. She was a nice and friendly but it made me appreciate why a lot of women don't like geeky men.
Yeah, that's true. You'll have to see the pics I took of her at one of the hurricane relief benefits. I still haven't sent them to her because I'm frickin' lazy and busy, but they are cool. I took pics of a BUNCH of bands that night.
You know...to be honest, I really envy those girls. I think I have that inner geekiness in me. But if you were to see me, you would not think so (not that I'm saying Im hot or anything ). Posting here I guess is a sign of my geekiness.....but really as far as looks and appearance are concerned I go with the mainstream...or with my friends (like Isabel said). Even though I have a hidden desire to dress different than everyone else.....it's like it's too late/hard to start. I guess that is what high school does to you. I always tell myself I am going to start buying clothes that are more quirky and more me....but I always end up chickening out.
At the risk of sending this to the D&D...i find Janeane Garofalo most definitely hot - in a very geeky sort of way.
just do it akperez!!! it's fun. not that i'm totally out of the mainstream, but there are simple rules that i follow when shopping. don't buy anything with a brand or logo on it (TH, D&B, LV, Polo, A&F, etc). I just don't like endorsing "name brand" items for them. also...i get things and wear them b/c i like them. i LOVE my chacos sandals but very few ppl in Houston where them. It's mostly an Austin thing but i LOVE them. HTML: http://www.active-sandals.com/womchacsan.html I hope I inserted that correctly. anyways...i dunno, maybe it does start all in High School but I never fully conformed with people so I've been about the same. Half of my stuff is plain like everyone else's but the other stuff are very me. It's nice. I always make fun of my sis b/c she's Miss J Crew and it's so obvious.
