jeff.... how are you liking maroon 5.. I really knew nothing about them until they were on campus two weekends ago... gave an awesome live performance so I went out and bought the cd... do they have two CDs.. the one I have is called songs about jane.. it's probably the same one I guess.. i think it also has maroon 5 in the title though so I guess maybe it is considered self titled
Super Furry Animals - Rings Around the World Not as good as Phantom Power, but still very good. Guided by Voices - Earthquake Glue Can't get into it really, I'm thinking this band sucks. Richard Thompson - The Old Kit Bag Good. New Pornographers - Electric Version Won't leave the rotation till their next record comes out--or till I find Mass Romantic. Beulah - The Coast Is Never Clear Anyone hear Yoko yet? Sigur Ros - Von If you thought ( ) was boring, stay away. And ( )'s not boring, it's wonderful.

Thank you, I knew I could depend on you to post and make me feel like less of a music freak than I already do. I swear, I think you and I are the only two Maiden fans on this entire board.. So, what do you think of it?
New Pornographers - damn I want this record too. Wanted to buy it this week but they did not have it. Beulah - nice that someone know this band. I only got "When your heartstrings break". Is this from a new record?

What do you think? Neil Young is pretty much my favorite artist, but I haven't been able to get into this one yet. Of course, I've only listened to it once so far. Is this already out in the US? How's it compare to the debut? ...also, while I'm at it. Has anyone heard the new Rodney Crowell album yet? I've read good things.
You know, I can't say that I have any thoughts yet. I'm only about halfway through my first listen. You? I thought BNW was great.
this is their first album. It used to go on Ebay for upwards of $40 bucks, because it was pretty rare. I hope they'll re-release it as some time if they haven't already.
Yea, I thought that was their first album, but didn't think about it until after I posted. That would be sweet if they re-released this! What did you think about Andrew W.K.'s latest album, DC?
On first listen, only about half of BNW really stood out, at this point, after I have seen them perform the songs live twice, it stands up with their classic stuff. I think Dance With Death is better. I have only listened to it twice..and there are only maybe two songs that Im not real crazy about. It will probably take another few listens to properly appreciate it..as is usual with their stuff. DId you get a chance to catch them this time around? they were touring with Dio and Motorhead..great show!
Palmray- Excellent call on The Coral, not many people have heard of them. I prefer the debut, though this one is really good as well. Have you heard of The Thrills? DCkid- They're both good, but I like the first one a little bit more. Definately worth checking out. Home- Radiohead - Ok Computer Dave Matthews Band - Listener Supported (disc II) Coldplay - Parachutes Work- Stone Roses - Best Of
I haven't heard Heartstrings, but it's about to be re-released. The Coast Is Never Clear came out in 2001, and their new album, Yoko, just came out Tuesday. It's supposedly Beulah's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which I like the sound of. Unless it goes gold, the band is breaking up. (TCINC only sold 30,000 I think, so this may very well be the end.)
Oh yeah, Neko Case's Blacklisted is fantastic. Anyone mildly interested in alt country (whatever the hell that means) should pick it up. Plus she sounds like Patsy Cline at times, and nothing's better than that. Except Joni Mitchell. Think of it as the female response to Ryan Adams' Heartbreaker.
