OK, what is literally in the CD player is Cake "Comfort Eagle", but I was about to take that out and put in my latest mix. (warning: I've been into a lot of silly retro 80's stuff... because it's available at used CD stores and I can come closer to affording it.) The mix includes:

Tom Petty - Running Down A Dream
Chilliwack - My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)
U2 - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
    Cake - Arco Arena
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Parallel Universe
The Fixx(?) - Red Skies At Night
    U2 - Electrical Storm
Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen - Theme from Mission:Impossible
Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Zoot Suit Riot
U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close)
    The Clash - Ghetto Defendant
Duran Duran - Breath After Breath
    Belle Stars - Iko Iko
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Resurrection
The Police - King of Pain
Counting Crows - If I Could Give All My Love

What's in your CD player and what's on your computer (cough) are too different things, but here are the CDs that get heavy rotation at work/home:

U2, All That You Can't Leave Behind
Alice in Chains, Jar of Flies
    Bob Marley, Legend
    Beck, Mutations
    Dixie Chicks, Home
    Nick Drake, Pink Moon
    Miles Davis, Kind of Blue

thanks, but I want give this compliment right back. Yes I saw them once. Quite good live band. If you can throw in some beers before the show.

Redd Kross: This record is soooooo underrated - just classic - do you know the band fastball?

Oh, I can throw some in.

Yeah, I love that RK album. I think I might like "Third Eye" the best though. Yeah I know Fastball. Got their last 2 albums. I liked "All the Pain..." okay...haven't really listened to their newest one much though. Never heard their first one. You got sumpn' to say about them? I'll give them a closer look if you say so...I like your taste (musical, that is).

When the levee breaks , got no place to stay

When it's raining in Houston, it's Zepplin time.

(about 50 songs back to back all ripped from Napster)

His new band is called "Black Khali Ma" and was released on "Alternative Tentacles" (which is funny and great and strange).

Really a good album. Buy it if you can.
