Since we have so many style experts around here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=250451

Share some of your style rules here.

    I'll start:
    - Wear clothes that fit - not too baggy, not too tight
    - Cuffs on pants are a no unless it's a suit
    - Don't wear athletic shoes unless you're doing something athletic (I wear leather slip-ons most of the time)
    - When in doubt, wear a collar. (polo or button up)
    - Wear a belt
    - Have casual pants other than just blue jeans (but blue jeans are still fine)
    - Leather jackets are a good option if it's cold

None of these are hard rules, but it's a good place to start

Caring about casual style is a waste of time, in my opinion.

Business, on the other hand, yeah. But to have rules for casual style is stupid.

I agree, except for the athletic shoe part. IMO, there's nothing wrong with a fresh pair of sneakers that match the colors that you're wearing.

    Disagree on a couple.

Collars are not always the way to go. In general, I feel like polo shirts are trending out. There are better options than a traditional polo nowadays.

Also, leather jackets ALWAYS look lame to me.

Everybody got their own style and what seems right to them.

Personally, I like wearing pants rather than jeans. Trying to buy more pants nowadays but still have a lot of jeans that I wear. I also prefer dress shirts and polos.
I like to wear a watch with everything.

The hardest part for me is to match my shoes with my clothes.

Always wear athletic shoes unless you hate your feet.

You can cuff anything you want. Cords are often cuffed to give weight to the bottom of the pant - it has a purpose. I don't cuff, but you can cuff.

Belts aren't always required, even with a suit. It's hard to pulloff but no harder than a leather jacket.

Don't wear sandals/flip flops unless you are going to the beach. No one wants to see your feet.

Wait, don't you live in the Caribbean? That's bold. My feet would be hanging out all the time.

I don't get where you have to match your shoe with your clothing.

Have men turned into women now with all the fashion trends?

If it's cold, i'll wear whatever i want to keep me warm.

So what if I wear athletic shoe? I'll wear a dress shoe if I'll go somewhere important.
