I believe the receiver does. Could be wrong though.

Prigs can't create his own shot. We need another playmaker at
pg to help Harden. Prigs is a 3rd string backup at best

Yes... Those guys are available on every corner... Pnr > ISO any day. And yes prigs is a third string pg. The best third string pg at that.

Well, we aren't getting one before playoffs start, so....

Pablo had a nice game today. If his shot starts to fall, even better. Seems the more wide open he is, the more likely he misses. I trust him with the basketball though, so I won't complain too much. You could do much worse for your 3rd string PG.

This is especially hilarious considering that he has a "set shot"!

If he can't defend, he can still surely funnel opponents into the defense. It's what elite pg with less than capable defense do.

Hilarious. Surely you've heard of the pick and roll? PP executes that better than any guard on the team barring Harden.

To my mind, what you give up on the defensive end compared to Bev (not all that much IMO) is well worth it given PP's basketball IQ, potential assist/TO ratio & ability to actually run an offense, which really is all your bar should be at for a point guard.

Again, not everyone has to be a CP3. There's this silly idea that every PG should be able to create his own shots, coast-to-coast several times a game, shoot 40% from beyond, be *the guy* in any given situation. Silliness. Your point guard runs your offense, and Prig looks to me to be more competent at that role than the guys he splits minutes with.

Terry, particularly during his tenure with the Mavs, really plays more like a SG. Still prefer him starting at the 1-spot instead of Bev.

I disagree with the majority of the posters in this thread on Prigs.

Outside of his shot, which WILL come around, Prigs has shown that he can defend, take care of the ball, run the pick and roll and increase the general intelligence of this team tenfold.

6 rebounds and 3 steals tonight... 2 threes for 40%, which is his proven percentage.

It is astonishing to me that folks can't see how valuable he can be for us this season. And in the playoffs when the intensity increases, he is going to play.

Glad more and more people are coming around to Prigs.

This could be a timely injury to Beverley.

(I'm NOT saying I'm glad Beverley got injured.. I'm saying right before the Playoffs getting our PG accustomed to playing more with the starters and finding a groove is MUCH better as opposed to it happening at the start of the season)

Prigs best game. I was one who thought it was a decent signing but his reluctance to shoot and limited D was driving me crazy. I hope this is closer to the true Prigs going forward.

I agree. Except we don't "funnel opponents into the defense," all great NBA defense push you to the outside. You don't want to give NBA PGs and SGs the middle of the court. That is not "funneling opponents into the defense," that is leading them right to where the are most effective, because they have the most passing option in the middle of the court. Keep them out of the lane.

Hopefully Prigs is getting into game rhythm.

There were several line-ups there with him in that I'm sure haven't played a single min together. He and Johnson did good tonight for that reason.

I was hoping to see Capela though. I guess he'll have to have min in the TOR game.

Prigs at no point in his career has been a defensive liability, despite not being able to stay in front of people. His results actually suggest he is a plus defender. His defensive Xrapm has has actually been above average for a PG. He currently ranks 25th out of 81 PG's. Last season he was 9th  among 71 qualifiers.

He's smart, knowing where to be an what to do is huge defensively. D-mo, Ariza and Smith also excel in this. People put far to much emphasis on how somebody guards a player man to man, that's only a part of playing defense. Understand defensive concepts, rotations, where to send the man you are guarding.

Once Pablo's shot starts to fall he's gonna be excellent in the playoffs.

Prigs looked pretty good today. Maybe-- let's hope-- his shot will come around. I like how he does little winning things, like passing to lead his receiver to the right spot, quickly moving the ball, and drawing the charge. If he's knocking down 3s in the playoffs, he'll be the miracle that clinches sainthood for Morey.

THIS. Our offense is much more composed with him rather than Bev. Plus his defensive awareness and positioning makes up for his individual ability.
