It doesn't matter much to me though because the VSPAN for Scola trade is still something for nothing. We had to give up Landry for the other trade. And since you cannot divide by zero Scola trade wins.
Scola trade was sweet but this was sweet too: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/y_cjTjBsysc&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/y_cjTjBsysc&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
In terms of talent acquired vs. talent given, Scola obviously. In terms of maneuvering, and sheer cunning, the three-way Kevin Martin + NY picks trade.
this one has potential - Trading T-mac & Landry for Martin, Hill, Jeffries + picks but until we see what the picks do, the clear answer should be vspan for scola
man why you gotta say it like that. we beat the blazers AND took the eventual champions-lakers to 7 games without yao and tmac that year. even if you could be right, as a rockets fan you should instead give our team the benefit of the doubt that they wouldve finally beaten the jazz if they met in the playoffs that year.
Our draft picks over the past few years have turned out to be extremely talented players, however Scola was an absolute steal.
I picked Trading T-mac & Landry for Martin, Hill, Jeffries + picks but Scola move was also very good. Even though I ride Morey's nuts  I don't think it's just him thats made so many good draft picks, it's the entire staff (scouts+coaches)
getting Scola from the SPURS!! Its so nice, to take a great player from a rival. Spurs could have gone to more finals if they keep him.
My ranking: 1. Trading V-Span for Scola (despite Butler's contract) 2. Drafting Aaron Brooks 3. Drafting Carl Landry then Trading him for Martin 4. Trading T-mac for Hill, Jeffries + picks 5. Signing Trevor Ariza 6. Trading Rafer Alston for Kyle Lowry 7. Trading for Ron Artest 8. Drafting Chase Budinger 9. Trading David Andersen for 2nd rd pick ?. Drafting Patrick Patterson (early to tell)
We payed him almost 10M (Butler contract, buyout). Anyway you're right. This was the best move by far.
Those picks are the kicker man. Just watch, by next year there will be no question the T-Mac dumpoff + Carl Landry for Martin Hill and picks will be the crowning achievement thus far in Morey's career. And if he lands a superstar with all those assets this year? This discussion becomes moot.
When you look back on it, all of Morey's deals have be great, that's the only way I can define it.. small for getting a lot.. i still cant believe vspan for Scola! Green for Artest! And when he did give up a lot, it was a fleecing. All his moves have been pretty remarkable when you look back at them from the future. Now, let's see how Ariza does... thinking about Moreys previous move, I'm sure this will be good too.. let's hope we can look back on this and smile in a couple years (if we don't trade him)..
