I expect him to improve his shooting over the offseason. He has a lot of arm motion in his shot rather than wrist action .... A little film work and a whole lot of repetition over the offseason will go along way twards fixing his shot. He was a 60+% shooter in college .... How you go from a 60% shooter to a 30% (7-22) shooter I dont know ..... Maybe its more a confidence issue than anything else (tho his mechanics arent great).
He has a lot of room for improvement, his shooting and free throw shooting both are capable of improving, as is his defensive positioning. I don't think he will ever be a star, but 4-5% increase in his shooting % would move him into the "very valuable" category.
His ceiling is Brent Barry... His basement is working at footlocker... His present value is a decent player on a multi year cheap contract... late first round at best... more than likely, most teams would rather use the roster spot for someone with greater potential...
Chandler's minutes are being bumped up and he's responding. Parsons is finding his rhythm, playing in the flow. As others mentioned, that shot should start to improve, both from the field and the line. I had initially thought about having a 6-9 choice on the poll, now I regret it. It's really interesting to see all the 10 - 13's...very nice. Anyway, Morey did it again. And I'm adjusting my vote...moving up into the 14-17 crowd.
Oh, I agree. Chandler shouldn't go anywhere. And I'm for a rebuild, so I really want him to stay. But, if the right blockbuster comes along, all that is rendered moot. With Les's attitude/priorities these days .....anything could happen.
Chandler's an impressive iso defender. I'm not sure about the numbers, but they've got to be pretty good.
I'm sure his value is around the same as Bud's. Since Parsons can't really play offense, it might even be less.
Did you watch the OKC game? I'm not sure you can humanly defend Durant better than he did that night.
Chandler is already a VERY good defender, but has the physical and mental ability to be an elite defender, glue type player like AK-47 and a few others. He is worth a late lottery pick at this point. He certainly has warts and will never be a 20 point a game scorer or franchise player, but 12-15 points a game with his defense can make him very valuable.
Just a rookie right now. So the actual value is whatever someone thinks about his potential ceiling is to grow into after this season. Obviously he can improve his shooting and freethrows with more years in the league. So he has pretty high upside for a guy already starting.
Actually, I don't think it's far fetched to say Parsons is close to that of an elite defender. Let's just say any other all-star player who plays Parson's level of defense would be receiving all-defensive team honors.
