cato is slated to rack in 6mil next year according to realgm...dream is asking for at least that to resign...and there are question whether the rockets are going to resign him...this begs the question "do the rockets think cato is worth more than dream?"...my guess is the rockets made a poor decisions in regard to dream values and retirement and are now paying for it...imo..even at his advanced age, dream brings more to the table...than cato ever will.. i feel cato value should be decent...didnt the guy lead the nation in block shots in college or something? i think the move to the zone next year will benefit him...he doesnt move or react very well on defense and ends up being out of position...if he can just stand in the lane in a zone...im thinking he will benefit... i say his value is somewhere between ratliff and big country....in the slim market for centers..a 7footer with the potential to be a defensive force is enticing...the rockets fell for it..and are paying for it...im sure another team will too... ------------------
What scares me about this Cato thing is back in the 1997 draft he was considered a steal at the #15. A defensive stopper , a physical speciman. Sounding eerily like R-Jeff. Buckeroo, at ten or eleven mil a year, Big Country is a money pit. About the only thing good you can say about Cato, by comparison, is that he costs less. This many years out of college, Cato's school days are pretty meaningless to anyone but his college coach, Tim Floyd. Dream will be a better player the day he plays his last game than Cato will ever be. I say pay Dream 5-6 mil a year and boot Cato. ------------------ Some days you eat the bear. I'm with Buckaroo - - Cato does have a little value because he could still blossom into a legit defensive stopper. Although he should have blossomed a couple years ago. I hold out a little hope, assuming he can stay healthy. Albatross-men who would be WORSE to have on the team, given their contracts: Big Country Vin Baker Derrick Coleman and the king, Shawn Kemp. If you REALLY want to dump Cato, you could do it for these types. Any additions to this list are welcome, if you can think of any. ------------------

Calvin Kato is wortj alot cuz he can replacce Dreem after Olajuwan retires. Once Olajuwan retires, Kato can take over and play like Shaq and score lots and lots. I like Kato cuz he willl make Olajuwan look like a player like Walt or Bullerd. Kato rulz, Olajuwan is to old to keep playin. ------------------ Protrolls.com! Save Our Game Action Forum!
Kelvin Cato is a terrific person. Cato wrote a book for children that shows the significance of helping out other people. He also values his education by going back to college to complete some classes at Iowa State College. This can inspire children, who are interested in playing professional sports, the importance of giving back to the community and that an education can make them do other creative, thoughtful things when they are not occuppying their with sports. Cato is a worthy person! ------------------
