You cant be serious.. Obviously you have no idea what the ghetto is. Ghetto is the urban area exclusively settled by a minority group. In the United States, immigrant groups (Latins, Asians, etc)and blacks have been compelled to live in ghettos, not so much by legal devices as by economic and social pressures especially during segregation. One can be ghetto because of the area that he lives may be poor, yet affordable because he/she was not allowed to live in any other area without being harassed/persecuted by hate groups. They live in these area because the find security with people of their same ethnicity. Therefore, it can be said that being poor in the country and being poor in the city is not so different. Single mothers work all day to support their family and make sure her kids are able to go to sleep with full stomachs. Being that their mother is never home because she is working, the children go out and seek comfort from others in the hood. This can be said with the ghettos of today. Your definition and examples made you seem like you feel you superior to those who can't afford and/or aren't given the opportunity to move up in the socioeconomic class.
Thug = 1) Any (lowly) person or people affiliated with a crime syndicate (such as any mafia, Yakuza, or powerful illegal drug operation. 2) Any person or group who uses brute force and power, excessively and unnecessarily to gain control of person, place, object, or thing. 3) A common and usually unskilled criminal, such armed robber, low-level thief, murderers, rapists, street drug dealers, and etc. 4) Karl Malone
Wait one second I don't think I'm superior to anyone, hell I'm still in the ghetto and thats how it is where I live. Yes you're right about the single mothers thing you do see that a lot in the ghettos today. And my examples is how we use the word ghetto in the city of Detroit.
Doesn't do enough of his own dirty work...and plus he is not a hired hand or low class enough to do so. But the question should be ... is he a criminal?
That's why I asked the question. I believe there are a lot of folks out there just using the word without really knowing wtf it actually is.
The ghetto I never really lived in the projects maybe when I was little. I've been around the projects but thats about it.
