That gives me way too much credit. My reasons are still irrational. 1. I generally hate the superstars if they aren't Rockets. Lebron, Durant, Kobe, Jordan. 2. I hate glamor cities. NY, LA, Chicago. I used to pity Miami before Riley. Now, Lebron's made them a glamor team. 3. The Decision displayed such a shocking amount of oblivious narcissism. It's like they didn't even think about what he was doing to Cleveland. I don't insist he stay in Cleveland forever. The way he did it was terrible.
If you really hate them and you are a reasonable intelligent person you would realize that feeding into those kinds of discussions ( like making this thread) will only encourage more hate. Think before you post and don't feed the trolls
A lot of ppl in Texas hated the Bulls and MJ. He was even booed at the 1996 All-Star game in San Antonio when he was receiving his MVP award.

The 80's n 90's are stuffed with living legends, best nba players so that alone overthrows your argument. 3. Yes the east is weak, n it make a big difference. Not lebron's fault but contributes heavily to the factors. 4. R u kidding me? Did u watch how charles oakley fouled superstars back then? Today players are sissy by the 80's standard. 5. R u kidding me? If he wants to quit, do it gracefully. Dont collude with another top 5 player n another top 15/20 (depends on your subjective rating) player to create a superteam. Ohhh n the Decision was disgusting to the max.
People like stories. Story 1: Start with a core and watch it develop into a champion. Story 2: Take less $ to form an overpowered team because you realize that your marketing $ are worth more than your playing salary. Which story do you prefer?
It's getting harder to rationalize being a Lebron-hater. I'm a hater because he's fun to root against. That's all. But it may have something to do with the idea that Miami fans are very fair-weather and have been coming out of the woodwork on their high horses thinking they're great. And also that ESPN gobbles on lebron's knob every two seconds...I mean they'll even show highlight reels of him getting in foul trouble (indy series)...just makes it more fun when he loses
The most rational fans are bandwagon fans. Period. There is no rational reason for rooting for a losing team.
The LeBron haters? Don't be irked by them- laugh at them. First, any fan of any team would absolutely love to have this guy on their team. I'm completely certain of that fact. Then, you have guys who have never won a championship and are revered as all-time greats- Malone, Stockton, Barkley, etc. Then, you have those who have won one, and they'll always be known as champions- Garnett, Robertson, Barry, Nowitski, Drexler, Hayes, Unseld, etc. Now, you have a guy who's won 2 championships, will probably win at least one or two more in his lifetime, has won multiple MVPs, is really a great 2-way player, hasn't done anything controversial like drugs, crime, etc- oh, except for a narcissistic televised announcement and celebration. And this is reason for hate? GMAFB. I don't care about any comparisons to MJ, Kobe, etc. LeBron is LeBron- he'll be remembered as one of the all-time greats, for sure, possibly if not definitely in the top 5. I see nothing wrong with the way he conducts himself, plays the game of basketball, and competes. Great player, passer, clutch player, defender, rebounder, team player- worthy of all the praise he gets.
Not sure if serious. Hometown loyalty is rational. You want to feel connected with the team. You want them to represent you.

Your team winning (or even having a team in the first place) is probably more detrimental then anything (publicly funded stadiums). I've never once heard someone say "Wow we should visit/move to San Antonio because they have a good team - what a great city." I have opinions of sports franchises and cities completely separate - because most teams have little holding them there. Yep. Makes you wonder how much longer the Heat will be considered favorites and whether or not Lebron will stay.
1. In the context of the league, yes they were. Wade was considred top 5 in the league and Bosh top 15 at least. Lebron joined up with 2 of the best players in the league, during Bird and Jordan's time they were the best players in the league. SO yes, comparable. 2. The Bulls drafted Jordan and drafted Pippen. Pippen didn't grow up until about 89/90. Pippen became Pippen after a period of time. The Bulls got Rodman after Jordan already had 3 rings. Horace Grant was part of a trade. So yeah, rings 4, 5 and 6 are not comparable. Focus should be on the Jordan/Pippen/Grant trio. 3. No, stating the facts is not blaming anyone. You can only play who is put in front of you. However it is FACT that the East is as weak as it has ever been over the last 4 years and Miami have benifited. Miami don't get to rest Wade if they are in the West. Whoever makes it out of the West ends up with a tougher leadup. That is part of why I laugh when Miami fans b**** about the heat in game 1. You ****ers are younger and had an easy run compared to the Spurs. 4. If you think Lebron gets fouled hard reguarly in comparison to the 80's, you need to expand your Basketball viewing library. For every hard foul he takes, he b****es and complains about 5 touchy fouls. Lebron and Wade are the same in this area, if they receive soft contact and get no call, they will give those puppydog eyes, throws there arms out, amoung other theatrics. But Lebron takes a hard foul once a game...wow, big deal lol. 5. Yeah, Lebron did quit on the Cavs. Add to the equation that he joined Bosh and Wade, it is obvious to see he left because he wanted it to be easier to win rings.
No, he left via free agency...quitting is not showing up for games; lobbying for trades; or mailing in performance. The Cavs quit on themselves more than anything...how come they cannot compete for a playoff spot in the miserable East with all of these draft picks and cap space.
