a healthy dmo playing pf, not center, will surprise a lotta pple, even rockets fans. i expect a big year from him, making him and dwight a legit twin tower lineup.

jones is jones, he cant get much better than he is. good vs non all star pfs, average or bad vs all star pfs. he's a great backup

It takes time to get one's confidence back especially when you come back from a potential career ending (nerve damage to leg) injury. TJ needs to get stronger and the same goes with DMO. DMO needs to hit the leg weights big time this off season and Jones needs to stay healthy and he'll get his explosiveness back. DMO needs to work on his rebounding and Jones needs to work on his consistency. I see both improving if they can stay healthy.

Dmo is pretty well rounded as a player. He just needs to work on getting stronger and rebounding

How many players in this league does this question fit, from 0-12 feet from basket is he better with his right or left hand?

A face up game for D-Mo.

Seriously, D-Mo is easily a top tier back to the post player, and he has demonstrated that talent since he was drafted and traded to the Rockets. However, he really needs a stronger face-up game to add versatility and make it really impossible for defenders to guard him.

DMo's improvements will be based upon how often he gets the ball, if the team gives it to him often enough, he will improve a LOT - if he gets it occasionally, he will remain a 12-6 guy.

D-Mo just needs to expand his range and limit his fouls. He did a really good job of going straight up on d last year to contest shots but not foul.

TJ.... Honestly if he doesn't get stronger which I don't really believe he can do much more strength wise with his body type he's nothing more than a bench player. Yea his shot isn't great but he's effective on offense. I just don't think you can start him against, memphis, lac, sa, etc and that's not necessarily his fault

TJ needs to work on his confidence. He comes out explosive for the first 2 minutes and then it disappears and does something stupid. Sometimes he looks lost on the court. If he worked on that then it will help improve his game.

Both guys need to be healthy.

I kind of wish DMo's release was higher like Aldridge or Dirk. For a 7 footer he actually releases it slow and low, so a face up game for him would be difficult. Unless, of course, we're referring to a face up to a spin layup/hook type of game.

Jones just needs consistency. He reminds me a bit of Lamar Odom in the sense that one game he's impactful and the next he shrinks and disappears. I'm not sure it's in him but we'll see.

Dmo needs to be healthy first.
Then pick up where he left off last season.

Jones on the other hand needs to get tougher and play hard all the time.
He should really watch his back because Harrell has a great motor and is gonna bring it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Harrell knocks Jones out of the rotation.

    ON THE RECORD

I truly expect DMO to have as good or better statistical year than Kevin Love

Lawson is kind of a question mark at this point. If he is productive then we are title contenders. If he's a non-factor or even worse, a negative influence on the team as a whole, then we'll simply be a good playoff team.

Rebounding and Defense. Hopefully Jones learns how to finish those easy lay-ups.

Jones: MAKE YOUR LAYUPS. I think it's a psychological thing where he's too pumped and/or nervous, but it was devastating in some games.

Jones: DON'T put the ball on the ground when you're near the basket. Instant offensive opportunity lost. Keep it high, go up, and score.

Both: Learn to rebound like wolverines, so it's not all on Dwight. This includes watching tape and seeing where to position yourself for optimal rebounding in addition to playing tougher and boxing out better.

Both: Dunk the ball AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Don't give the other team an opportunity for a block.

D-Mo: His post offense is phenomenal. I'd like to see the team use that to their advantage and open up his passing opportunities. If he's a threat to score, he has to be guarded, which means he can also look for opportunities to kick it back beyond the arc to an open man, or even better, dump it to Dwight or someone slashing to the basket. That's really a coaching thing, but he could certain study up on that himself.

Jones has got to get consistent and hard or else he really isn't a long term benefit to the team. He has great games and he has atrocious games. D-Mo's the one that made huge strides last season, and I don't think Terrence's injuries and lack of playing time had a whole lot to do with his problems when he was healthy. It's something else, but it needs to be fixed if he's going to be in the mix.

I don't see how TJones can improve besides maybe developing a 3pt shot. Not saying he's a bad player but seems like for Jones he just has to stay healthy and play more aggressively.

Not much for him to improve skill wise as I think he is close to his potential.

Better/Consistent defense, rebounding and 3 point shooting from both would be great!

As far as stats... 15p,10r and 40% from 3

Honestly if both guys are still here come October I'd be satisfied if they became 80% free throw shooters.
