mm true. bill cartwright was a straight up low post BEAST.

haha..i know, i know, we have no pippen/jordan tandem. but still had to point out a glaring flaw.

This poll is premature to say the least.

I feel sad when I read this poll. I’m Chinese. Most of our Chinese fans treat Rockets as our country’s team. Few of us take playing Rockets as a business. We love rockets so badly, every day the first thing we do is viewing the standing of our team. Yao and most of us have become irremovable parts of Houston. Yao fights for our Houston with everything he can do, never abandons, and never gives up. I think Yao will despair of this discuss. He is born for Houston which now is his root.

I have a even tougher question:

what if coach A goes crazy by starting brooks/green/novak/hayes/deke from now on and somehow we win the title, what are we going to do???

Hakeem retired as a Toronto Raptor.

I don't care if we win with or without Yao. I just want to win. I would prefer to win with Yao

Don't feel sad, my country man. They treat you well, you treat them well. They don't, you don't.

Yao is always Yao, wherever he goes!

Depends on what you can get for him. I actually had a thread on trading Yao before he got injured. If you can get a couple of really good young players that do not have Yao's weaknesses, I would go for it (along the lines of Bosh, Bargnani, and Ford or Calderon). You do not even need to get back draft picks.

I don't think they will get to the wc without yao, but everyone has a price. Yao's financial impact on the rox is overrated. The cba and revenue sharing allows all the teams to get some of the pie. This isn't baseball where u keep all the money from merchandise sales and stuff. I think people need to stop thinking like that.

do you have more details on that? say toyota pays 180 million dollars for 25 years for the naming rights of the arena or something like that, are all other 29 teams getting to share a piece of that? just curious.

and some talk yao like he's only valuable 'cause he's a cash cow. well, you have to realize he has to be darn good at bball in order to be a cash cow. have your heard the other 2 chinese dudes that came to the nba b4 yao ever were cash cows?

Although it sounds a little bit annoying to most of Yao's fans, but maybe this is the question should be asked. Fans need to do some soul-searching to make sure they're indeed blessed to have the best big guy in the league. As for the management, this is clearly out of question.
You can also trade him to New York, or Los Angels. That's exactly what some of the league officials and Chinese fans are quietly crying for.
Anyway, NBA is business. If Yao can't win a ring in Houston or the Rockets can't win a title with Yao. It's better to let them say goodbye to each other. There're other possibilities for both.

Agreed! Yao will never ask to be traded unless the organization really sucks, which I see highly unlikely in the following years. This is ball club with hope. Yao'll choose to stay with it. If the organization has other thoughts, it's not the skying falling. New York or Los Angels may be his next home, which I also see highly unlikely.

if we traded yao, i would trade him to LAC for S&T Elton Brand and switch picks which theres should be aaround #7 and pick up OJ Mayo, Deandre Jordan or Eric Gordon. Is Yao's value that good? Or even good enough for 1, or 2 pick? Of the top picks i would prefer Derrick Rose, that dude is gonna be scary good and he's a good kid. Beasely is a punk and but very talented.

It is more than a bit annoying to most of Yao's fans. But is it just to the Yao fans? At such a devastating moment, people are talking this in a fantasy land?

It would be better if this kind of thinking comes from the Rockets management instead of from the "fans". It is cold, I am telling you.
