What if Suns demand 2 first round picks to take on Knight contract for Ariza?

    Read before vote.
    Trevor Ariza was an elite individual defender, and he had been in Houston, since 2014 and knew the Rockets’ system. Between Ariza and P.J. Tucker the Rockets could handle the quickness required for a defense that relied on switching off of pick and roll offenses. This trade save Tilman at least $30 million next season.

    Ariza trade rumors are running wild between 76ers and Kings.

    Few teams is willing to swallow Knight's contract, and more teams are interested in Ariza.

    Pretty sure “Rockets trade two 1st rounders to re-acquire player they just let walk” won’t be a headline ruining my day anytime in the near future.

    Brandon Knight can score. I just don't trust him staying healthy and depending on him to be the starter for a full season. CP3 and Knight help each other out by reducing their USG%. In theory.

    I'm not against using Knights contract for a star plaryer or multiple players that can contribute. Who says Ariza has to be the only player out there and 1st round picks have to go out from the Rockets.

    Suns won t take back Knight imo.

    Rockets are shaping up nicely imo.
    Harden/CP3/Knight facilitating
    Gordon/GGreen/House/Ennis as SG"s
    Ennis/House as wings
    Tucker/Gary (G-6) as PF's
    Capela/Hartenstein/Nene as centers

    I'm guessing Morey looking into wing help and possibly Center/PF addition.

    Out are probably MCW/Chriss/Melo (maybe Knight/Nene depending on return package/ $ filler)

    A team cannot reacquire a player it traded away during the same season (a season for this purpose being defined as starting on the first day of the regular season and ending on the last day of the Finals). If the player was traded between seasons (i.e., from the first day after the Finals to the last day prior to the start of the next regular season), it cannot reacquire the player prior to the end of the next season.

    Also, who the hell is giving up 2 1st round picks to get rid of a contract that expires next season, especially when the player you’re getting in return is the caliber of Trevor Ariza? Delete this trash thread.

    Giving a first to get out from under Knights contract is somewhat reasonable...
    but a 1yr rental on an aging Ariza is not worth a first rd pick...
    ...imo....

    Plus, Knights contract is one of the only real avenues we have to improve our roster next off season without giving up rotation players... he's the expiring salary offset to couple with picks... ;)

    • He currently has the worst FG% of his career
    • He was bad in the playoffs
    • In the 14 games he missed last season, the Rockets were undefeated and saw an increase in margin of victory
