Agree with all. Essentially no avenue to even be as good next year as the Rockets are right now AND the Rockets are clearly not a Title contender now. Probably just stay above average this year and next, and then roll dice in hopes KD comes to Houston and someone (or Dwight) joins him. Basically means we punt the 3 seasons with Howard, while we try to add another piece. Trade the assets necessary to get Dragic or Lawson (I might actually prefer Lawson, because of his contract and the impending cap in 2016) and go all in to try and win now, while still maintaining 2016 flexibility. Terry and Shved as "assets" are exhausted after today and the 2015 draft picks get much less valuable because if not used before/at the draft, they are much harder to trade as players going forward.
You won't get juicier deals in the summer because that will be a late lottery and other folks will have cap space they dream on. Everyone will have cap space in 2016. The chances of getting KD are miniscule. It really comes down to the goals of Rockets/fans. Is being a good team, who wins regular season games enough? Then there are no worries. If a championship is the ultimate goal then the Rockets have wasted this year and next.
KJ McDaniels trade hurts. Prigioni helps only if his partially guaranteed deal for 2016 can be traded.
