We needed depth at both positions. Brooks would've been nice to have when Bev got hurt and Lin stunk up the joint against Portland(aside from Game 5). And besides, Hamilton didn't even play after his first 2 or 3 games here.
Then that just means the Rockets will have to kick the **** out of all-comers in the playoffs with this team. It's not a matter of IF the Rockets will win the championship. The question is how much carnage will they leave in their wake on their way to holding up the trophy.
Unless we get a huge piece back, I don't want to trade the NOP pick, TJ or Capela. If Dragic or Knight become available, then we can talk. Don't make a move with those pieces unless we get a lot better. I think we go for a small trade. Prigioni, Calderon or Jack for that NY 2nd? Would love Jack on this team.
i don't think DM every missed a deadline without making a trade in his entire history of being a GM. something, no matter how small, will happen. 100%.
The last rumor I heard was that we were inquiring about Brook Lopez, but that was a while back and seems to be over. We were expecting the Brewer trade for a while before that happened. As soon as Josh Smith became available it was rumored the Rockets were the front runner. Morey has pulled out some surprise trades in the past, but that there is really no rumors floating around right now is very strange to me.
100% chance at least a minor deal gets done. Morey has made a trade every single deadline he's been here.
If the PG situation isn't resolved and no rim protector is added in the event we lot Howard for the year, I don't see this team getting out of the first round. Even with Howard back, the Rockets are giving up to much at the 1 and in terms of playmakers o grind out a series win. I love this team but it's a flawed roster not built for a sustained playoff run unless they catch lightning in as bottle.
there was no way of knowing the bev and lin situations. Brooks wasn't even playing at all if you're going to use that statement with Hamilton.
It's pretty much bone on bone with the PG slot. Real ugly business. The PF situation might or might not get resolved, but with a legit playmaker who can spell harden's duties and keep others happy, that might be the boost in chemistry and focus needed for the entire game.
No matter what happens the usual pitchfork mob will be here to tell us just how wrong whatever it is Morey does or doesn't do. Without any knowledge of any possible trades that were discussed. Some will just know that there is something we could have done or should have done differently.
I doubt anything major happens just b/c there seems to be internal uncertainty surrounding Dwight's prognosis. I'm not a fan of making a move just to make one... I think there are only a handful of guys out there who would put us over the top, and I'm not sure any of them are truly available. ETA: That said, I voted 50% because Morey.
there will be a trade whether big or small there will be a trade for sure 7 years as rockets gm he always made a trade before the trade deadline
In that case, it'd be a Tmac/Yao Ming all-in gamble pushed by Les. Me, I'd rather give Harden support then let him average 37 mpg going into the playoffs even if "cap flexibility" is sub optimal for the next 2 seasons. It's time to nut up and stop blaming Milkhair for the ****ty rotations because FO holds back just for the chance of ruining midseason chemistry.
